Red Water Cafe was relatively new, so I was unfamiliar having not visited the Big Island in a couple of years. It came highly recommended. The menu looked impressive and I wanted some great sushi before heading back to the mainland, so we booked a table. It was an unusually hot day in Waimea, which tends to be quite cool... More

Our son recommended the Red Water Cafe in Waimea, Hawaii on our way to Hilo from Kona. We were not disappointed. The former Eidelweiss, now under new owners. My wife had the seafood saimin. She loved it-the dashi (broth) was very tasty and the noodles we not overcooked. Besides the noodles, there were pieces of fresh ono, salmon, shrimp, calamari... More

We chose The Red Water Cafe to cater our daughter's August 2014 wedding because of the excellent reviews we read online. Coming from out of state, we trusted the reviews and hoped they would live up to them. I cannot express enough how very pleased we were with the food and the service. Delivery and set-up were on time, efficient... More

Eclectic is the word to describe tis place. My wife wanted noodles (she's a fan of pho and ramen), and so she got the saimin. I do have to say that we haven't had saimin anywhere else, so have no way of comparing, but my wife thought the soup was a bit tasteless (maybe the problem is that she just... More

This was a very good place for lunch on our return from the overlook at Waipio Valley. Lunch stops at 2:30. If you need one, you have to ask for the kids menu. I had seafood Saimin, which is a Hawaiian chunky soup. It was excellent, a bit spicey and full of various seafoods (some new to me). Too much... More

The menu here has so many different styles of cuisine that the mouth becomes confused in anticipation. There is sushi and sashimi, and two saimins alongside pastrami, salads, fried calamari and burgers. Everything seems a little pricier than it needs to be. The food when it arrives is robust, large servings. My chicken sandwich with bacon could have been two... More

Was in the mood for a good steak and thought the Red Water would be the place to go, and at $38 thought the Rib Eye would do the trick............ big mistake, the entire thing was fat, unedible greasy fat........ shame shame on you, at that price nothing but a big rip off. And my dinner companions thought their dinners... More

We stumbled upon The Red Water Cafe while passing through Waimea on a drive from Kona to Hilo. We tried to eat at a sushi restaurant, which turned out to no longer serve lunch & were starving so we stopped at the first place we came to. It turned out to be a huge blessing because this restaurant was soo... More

My wife and I ate here last week and we were pleasantly surprised at the breadth of menu options. When our food came, both dishes were delicious and flavorful. I recommend this place to anyone that wants an excellent meal. Our server was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about all of the dishes as well. Overall, a great experience.
