Fresh and Very Tasty

The Red Water had the best food by far of any place we visited on the big island during our 8 day stay. The tomatoes on the oho sandwich were some of the best we have ever tasted. The waitress was super friendly, and the place was very clean and well kept. That can't be said for a lot of... read more

Our favorite dining place in Kamuela. Excellent fried rice, sushi, and salmon dishes. Frequently busy, but worth the wait. Friendly wait staff and reasonable prices. Children's menu available.

I am happy to say that I was lucky enough to perform here in August of 2015. I'd link the story I read there, but TripAdvisor doesn't like that self-promotion stuff... so you'll just have to look at my profile and look me up otherwise / otherwhere, but the joint was great... let's discuss that: The little foyer gives you... This delightful restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but their cuisine is excellent, inspired and consistent. The ambiance is really a surprise when you set foot inside the door. Great pupus too with attentive and friendly service. Highly recommend!

Can get pretty busy so make sure to make a reservation. The Sushi here is worth the wait...which can be a long one, depending on the crowd

We went there twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. Both meals were great. I highly recommend getting a wok for dinner, as they are great value for a lot of food. We all ordered the half woks, for $12 each and it was enough food for two meals. I also highly recommend getting the flourless chocolate torte for... More

We passed through Waimea during a recent trip to Hawaii. I stopped at the local drug store and asked if there was a restaurant that was good for lunch. We were very happy we listened to the recommendation visiting this place. You walk in and all you smell is the beautiful wood that lines the inside of the restaurant. The... More

We journeyed a short distance from our rented villa at Kohala Ranch to Waimea for our daughter's birthday on the premise that Red Water Cafe had an authentic environment and good food. Our assumption was correct. The the beverages were exceptional - a wonderful array of Martinis and appetizers. The entres for the four adults and 2 children were delicious.... More

We found this place based on some really positive reviews on tripadvisor and Yelp. I liked the fact that it included some really great feedback and a "moderate" price tag. Problem is the moderate price tag was totally inaccurate. While there may be some affordable options...they are few and far between. I would plan on spending $35-40 per person before... More
