First time we have had dinner here, it is usually lunch. The dinner menu is extensive, the happy hour menu was a fantastic deal, $5.00 pupus and $5.00 selected drinks, pupus were hot and fresh, drinks were a real buy. We had the machong, it was killer. Good size portions compared to its competitor across the street plus the prices... More

We had 20 people in our group to celebrate Obachan's (grandmom's) birthday. We needed to eat early due to her schedule, and the restaurant seated us an hour earlier than opening. The menu is not extensive, but what they do serve is soooo ono!

Red Water is for everyone, from burgers to sushi to soups & salads. They even have a kiddie menu. Priced well, portions large. Food always hot. We had lunch and dinner there this month- For lunch: Fish sandwich with fries was fresh, piece of fish small for size of bread. I had vegetable noodle soup (saimen) with chicken, large bowl... More

Most of the diners were local, not exactly comfortable, but staff was very competent and friendly! food was outstanding! We had a special of sesame seed crusted ohono with water crest salad and Wasabi mashed potatoes ....amazing!

We were really proud of ourselves for discovering this little gem after a long day. It usually pays off asking the locals about the hot spots, but this time we were really pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere, mouthwatering food and service that you will only see on the island - friendly, curious, comforting. They really looked after us and made us... More

It's a bit pricey but they gave good portions and the food tasted really great. Would definitely go there again for a special occasion. They've got great prices for happy hour between 5 pm and 6 pm.

Red Water Cafe was relatively new, so I was unfamiliar having not visited the Big Island in a couple of years. It came highly recommended. The menu looked impressive and I wanted some great sushi before heading back to the mainland, so we booked a table. It was an unusually hot day in Waimea, which tends to be quite cool... More

Our son recommended the Red Water Cafe in Waimea, Hawaii on our way to Hilo from Kona. We were not disappointed. The former Eidelweiss, now under new owners. My wife had the seafood saimin. She loved it-the dashi (broth) was very tasty and the noodles we not overcooked. Besides the noodles, there were pieces of fresh ono, salmon, shrimp, calamari... More

We chose The Red Water Cafe to cater our daughter's August 2014 wedding because of the excellent reviews we read online. Coming from out of state, we trusted the reviews and hoped they would live up to them. I cannot express enough how very pleased we were with the food and the service. Delivery and set-up were on time, efficient... More

Eclectic is the word to describe tis place. My wife wanted noodles (she's a fan of pho and ramen), and so she got the saimin. I do have to say that we haven't had saimin anywhere else, so have no way of comparing, but my wife thought the soup was a bit tasteless (maybe the problem is that she just... More
