Cozy space, great food

We had lunch here one day, and just loved the place. The interior is cozy with lots of dark wood, an interesting variety of artwork on the walls (including, in the hall to the rest rooms, the artwork of patrons who colored on the paper table coverings), and several separate dining areas. Spouse had... read more

Start with the beet salad. It is a must if you like feta and beets. The corkage fee was very reasonable to bring your own wine. Try the fresh catch- red snapper was a hit. We tried the Susai rolls and they were fresh. A nice location for family and friends.

Pleasantly surprised by good food service and live music. Reservations seem to be preferred everywhere in Weimea we had the specials

Wow!! Forget Merriman's go to Red Water when wanting locally sourced island food prepared creatively and deliciously, this is the go to place. Excellent Sushi and rolls, fresh fish, steak, and smoked meats. The ribs on Saturday nights are to die for!! A favorite for us whenever we are on the island. Worth a trip to Wiamea!! After Ulu at... Ordered seafood Saimin, husband ordered a ruben. Both were pretty bland for the price but super large portions. Keiki meals were huge.

I live fairly close to this restaurant and have eaten here dozens of times over the years. It's a popular choice with locals as prices given the quality of the food are reasonable and portions are large. Service is very friendly. The menu is very eclectic and they've recently added some interesting items like a very passable poisson cru (I'm... More

Choice between Red Water and Merriman's. We chose Red Water. Our friends live in Kamuela and knew the staff as well as several patrons who were having lunch that day. Lunch menu is great. We had Seafood Saimin (which was loaded with seafood) Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the Fresh Catch sandwich with curried fries. Very yummy - gotta try those... More

We ate here recently for lunch on our way from Hilo to Kona. It was on a Friday around 12:30 and the place was packed. We were seated immediately and our order was taken. I ordered the Veggie Sandwich (Grilled Zucchini, Eggplant, Red Bell Peppers, Red Onions, Pesto & Provolone on Fresh Sour Dough Bread) with salad. The food was... More

We just visited the Red Water with friends from Alaska who also own a restaurant there. This place is where we take our guests for many reasons. For early dinner, there is a Happy Hour from 3 to 6, with an excellent bar and bartender. The food is unique because much of it is grown, raised, or caught on this... More

During our trip to the Big Island we wanted to experience having some Hawaiian beef. We understand that grass-fed beef is the best and wanted to make sure that we got a taste of it before we left the island. We chose the red water cafe. We looked at the reviews on Tripadvisor and everything was favorable. We ordered a... More
