Try the Macademia Pancakes!

We went for breakfast two mornings and were pleasantly surprised to find this so close to where we were staying. I had the macadamia pancakes both mornings and they were huge! Coffee was very good but was limited to one refill and unfortunately mine was only half empty when they refilled. My... read more

We came here after walking out of Red Water Cafe. First thing, full of cowboy types. Locals. Got a menu, water and coffee quickly. Great cowboy country decor ( which it is). Burgers are $8-10. Good tasting home cooked type food at a realistic price. We'll go here when in Waimea.

We are always at a loss to find a good restaurant in Waimea, other than Merriman's. We stopped at this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. It was around 4:00 PM and in between lunch and dinner, so we were the only ones in the place. The service was very friendly and efficient. The food was better than we expected. The... More

We found the Paniolo by chance, having driven and explored all day from Kona up to Hawi, and back down the 250 to Waimea, through very low cloud and pouring rain. We were damp, hungry and travel weary and very glad to find an unassuming restaurant and resting place. We had the lunch special (which is served up to 5pm)... More

We drove nonstop from Keauhou to Waimea, so were ready for lunch. Instead of going into the shopping center, we gassed up and spotted this place. The menu was eclectic. Four of us, four very different orders: meat loaf, tostada salad, BLT, tacos. There seemed to be only one waitress, but that didn't pose any issues this lunchtime because it... More

went to the restaurant on Tuesday . . . possibly a slower night of the week, however, they had a table of 20 and 1 waithelp . . . so imagine the scene. but glad to say the employees were attentive and provided great service and food. as a lifelong Hawaii resident, we have learned to "go w/ the flow"... I could smell the restrooms when we walked in the place. I was the only one who could, so obviously we stayed. As I looked around I noticed large cobwebs hanging all over the outside of the place and on the higher places inside. The upholstered seats were filthy. I was not about to use the restroom. The service was... More

Paniolo Country Inn was a weird experience. Customers were odd, our table was close to the kitchen, which seemed not exactly neat, food was average. The only redeeming feature was the good service. The whole experience left us uneasy.

We just happened to pass by this place and luckily we stopped. As we entered the daily specials caught my eye and I noticed the stew. I was thinking that they have pretty good access to some very fine grass fed beef from Parker Ranch so I thought I would give it a try. It was the BEST stew I... More
