Outstanding service and great pizza!!

My husband & I spent nearly 3 weeks visiting the island of Hawaii and found this to be one of the best stops we made for lunch during our travels. The food was great, beer was cold, and service was the friendliest and fastest we have seen in a long time. Pizza was fantastic and the appetizer... read more

Went to the Big Island to see the volcano and stopped at Pau for lunch. Had the best Cream of Mushroom Soup we've had in years. It was creamy but not overpowering, there were little bits of chopped mushrooms throughout, and the flavor was delicious. We also had the Primavera: I had Chicken and my husband had Pesto Pasta Ono... More

Right after the Waipio valley hike (all the way down to the falls and the beach), my husband and I were starving to death. It was late afternoon and we were unable to find any place open at 3:30 pm for lunch. Pau to the rescue! I had the fresh island fish sandwich and my husband had the pesto pasta.... More

For such a casual place, the food and service is top notch. Their takeout is excellent as well as dinning in. We had take out twice and dinned in once, all there experiences were awesome.

Merrimans next door offered only brunch when we showed up, so we opted for Pau. Great decision. Curried ono in a halved avocado on a bed of greens was outstanding. Attentive staff, dishes priced right, no complaints.

We had just arrived on the Big Island, staying in Waimea. We were feeling jet-lagged, hungry and not interested in greasy food which can be plentiful in Hawaii. We saw that Pau had salads, so chose to try it. We were immediately greeted and seated by very friendly staff. While the menu wasn't huge, it seemed to be based on... More

Stopped by Pau after a local event, we did not understand that there was no table service. Staff dropped off menus and told us to come to the counter to order. We ordered a few small items. The food was good and the salad was amazing, unfortunately no one cleared our plates. The real disappointment was desert, we ordered 2... More

Yearning for a great salad, we were treated to a few slices of artichoke and sun-dried tomato pizza to go along with a heart-healthy side salad. Add a cold beer and it was a great way to end our data-infused day.

Good pizza and salad combos at lunch, with some more interesting salad options, but that's about it. It's a nice thin-crust pizza, but I've had so many better pizzas, that I just couldn't get excited about this place. The casear salad is boring; go with one of the other salads.

This is our first time staying in Waimea. We tried several restarants. Some paying way too much for mediocre food. We went to Pau for dinner today based on reading TripAdvisor reviews. Nice, simple restaurant. Small menu, but Super good food! Very good value for top quality food! Fish was excellent! Very friendly staff and service was quick. I had... More
