The Best in Waimea!

This is our first time staying in Waimea. We tried several restarants. Some paying way too much for mediocre food. We went to Pau for dinner today based on reading TripAdvisor reviews. As a part-time local I've eaten here many times and the fish with salad option is my staple. You can order salad and fish as you like it, mix and match. Mixed salad greens and fish are local ingredients–– making it even better. Aloha!

Our group of 7 stopped here for dinner 20 minutes before closing. The staff was still cheerful, friendly and helpful. We ordered a few pizzas and a salad, and were impressed with the freshness of the food. The pizzas were great. Plus, it's an affordable place to eat in Waimea. We'll go back next time we're on the Big Island.

Merriment may technically be "better", but it's expensive. Pau is WAY less expensive and all local/organic. just the right portions, just the right tastes. Fast efficient service from a great service staff. HIGHLY recommended!

“Ono” means delicious in Hawaiian and Pau starts from scratch and delivers tasty salads, sandwiches, pizzas and entrees. Their herb garden is right in front and more local food comes from surrounding farms and the sea. Superfood quinoa had a good kick to the dressing. Turkey burger wasn’t mushy, like they sometimes are. Only about 10 tables, so avoid noon-1:00... More

We sought out this place because it was in the Hawaii Revealed book. The service was friendly and fast. The pizza wasn't all that great. Based on the book description we thought we were getting a great "super thin' crust pizza. That wasn't the case. The pizza crust is actually on the doughy side and reminds me of a frozen... More

Found this place by pure chance! We had parked our car and had looked at the posted menu for another restaurant when we spotted PAU in the far corner of the parking area. We were just looking for a reasonably light lunch - nothing fancy - and this place was just perfect! Really nice menu with what looks like updated... More

Not a huge fan of pizza but the combinations they offered (fresh local ingredients) were tempting so I ordered the vegetarian selection with a salad and it was delicious! Staff were very friendly. Low key place, very informal. We got there early and ordered at the front of the restaurant but as it got a little later, table service was... More

My wife and I stopped here on recommendation from staff where we were staying and were not disappointed. The food is fresh and local, which means you're getting salads with very fresh greens and vegetables. The fish is brought in fresh daily and they also do very good pizza. You can do takeout or dine in, and the staff is... More
