Enjoyable lunch spot

3 adults and two kids had a variety of items. Fish and chips were outstanding. Light batter on the fish which was moist and tasty. The fries were cooked perfectly. The chocolate chip pancakes were huge but our 5 year old granddaughter managed to put them away plus some fries. The regular... read more

This is a great spot to pause for the day. The menu was large (breakfasts or lunch served all the time). The price was great (under $25) for two of us. I enjoyed the salmon burger and AMAZING garlic cheese fries. My husband loved his tuna melt - pretty sure it had real tuna in it. Worth a stop!

Dropped into this little place after a day of exploring the Big Island. Found it offered very good dishes at very reasonable prices. You won't be disappointed and you won't go away hungry. Met "Gramma", although she claims she is actually only "Mom" and found her to be as enjoyable as the food served. Only drawback for some might be... More

We were looking for some food on our way back from horse back riding. Stumbled upon Grandma's Kitchen. The signs are adorable, including one that describes my family very well, "remember, to everyone else we're a nice, normal family." Serving sizes were great! The kids pancakes were huge and delicious with a side of Portuguese sausage. If you've never had... More

There are not a lot of GOOD choices in Honokaa, but Grandma's Kitchen is certainly one of the best I could find in town. The food was good and plentiful, the prices were reasonable, and the service was both friendly and good as well. The menu is somewhat limited, but there are enough choices to satisfy most appetites. Considering that... More

truly the tastiest lunch I've had in a long time for around $10. Restaurant refreshingly vintage charm, clean, bright. If there's no tables sit at the window it gives you a fun scene of townfolk walking by. I joined a client for lunch and ordered the fried chicken Korean style and mashed potatoes. It came with a fresh mixed green... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge desk in our hotel. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the staff. Food was amazing! Best corned beef hash I have ever had! Several people in our group had the French toast and loved it! Staff took time to visit with each table and find out where people were from... More

We stopped by for lunch, and were so glad we did. This is a small cozy restaurant that has great food and fantastic service. We ordered fish & chips and a burger. Both were excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely go back.

This is a little spot in a little town that was busy in mid-afternoon but we were pleased with the food, and service. Not usually up for the fried fare, I nonetheless had the daily special of Ono, coconut shrimp, and french fried potatoes which were fried just right, and seasoned light. Not expensive. The service was good, the personnel... More

Forget your diet, (although you can eat simple if you want to!). But who would not enjoy every item on the menu of this wonderful little breakfast spot. 'What happens at Grandmas, stays at Grandmas' is printed on the servers t shirts. We had a superb, very filling breakfast where locals hang with the tourists. Don't miss this one!
