Great Malasadas...skip the other food!

We stopped at Tex Drive In for a quick lunch and malasadas. While the malasadas were delicious, the other food ordered (hamburgers, teriyaki beef, sandwiches, fries, etc) was average to poor. The beef was so tough, my daughter-in-law threw out most of it. The beef used in the burgers was also... read more

We had one with Bavarian Creme and one with Guava, then took some plain for the road. I will be dreaming of these malasadas until I am able to get back there!

So, we haven't gone for the food, just for the crazy good malasadas. Warm, sugary, good! Should be on the new triangle food chart the U.S. has. Go, get some, then go for a hike. WORTH IT!

Stop here on your way to the tropic northside of the island. I must say that the only thing that I have had here are the malasadas, but they are worth the drive! My favorite is the mango -- warm, tender dough filled with delicious mango cream and coated in sugar. My sister recommends the rich, creamy chocolate. Either way,... More

That's all I need to say! While a great place to stop to take a break, enjoy a meal, and use the restroom, mostly everyone stops by for the Malasada's. Freshly made and comes in an assortment of creamy filling, be sure to by extra to take back with you. If your in a hurry, go early, because they can... More

We ate their twice, the first time was so good. The burgers and chili were real, homemade, but the malasadas aren't to be missed!

I stopped after a Waipoi Valley tour and was told it would be more than 20 mins for a malasada. They "just couldn't keep up". Great news for them I guess, but not for those of us who walked away. 20 mins for a donut, I don't care how good is silly. I'm no genius business person ... but if... More

We went there for their famous malasadas and were not disappointed! Freshly baked and delicious! I had to restrict myself to only one! I also tried the local wrap and enjoyed it thoroughly. My daughter enjoyed her Loco Moco. They also have a very nice gift shop so this place is definitely worth a stop! Onolicious!

We had never had malasadas and really enjoyed them. Be sure to stop at the window and watch them make them. We had chocolate and bavarian cream filled. We also had burgers and fish and chips which were good. Definitely worth a stop in!

Make a pilgrimage to this place. Yes, it's a greasy spoon type of restaurant but that's part of the charm. I had the Animal Burger and my wife the Teriyaki Beef. Both were very good. The fries were awesome - thick cut, crispy and fresh from the fryer. My first time tasting a malasada. We had plain sugar coated and... More
