4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013 NEW

We are back at one of my favorite coffee joints on island, Holuakoa Café in Holualoa town above Kona. We arrived early. There are still some carrot cake cupcakes. Yum. I ordered the BLT on a croissant.  I got a black coffee. Leisè got a chai. The carrot cake cupcake is, as usual, divine. The coffee is a little rough.... More

I had been hearing about this place for a while, so suggested it when a friend and I decided to meet for lunch. We were surprised that this very spacious restaurant was here. You wouldn't know it by driving by. The calm and beautiful atmosphere makes for a nice setting. You feel welcome. The service was also impressive. I can't... More

Great food, great service and beautiful surroundings make for a relaxing experience. Brunch is great. Eggs Benedict superb, French Toast delectable. Lunch or dinner are also great choices. Fresh ingredients from local vendors are also a plus. Mango mimosas are yummy. Family friendly! Wine list available with organic wines.

We had heard of this place and decided to try it out. Most of the seating is outdoors in a nice garden. It is laid back and slow, with plenty of time to relax and soak in the scenery. The food was fresh and nice.

We arrived about 15 minutes before lunch service ended, so our experience may not be typical. We were the only guests in the entire place, and we noticed workers departing while we reviewed the menu. That felt a bit odd. Our server, however, was friendly and efficient. I opted for the prix fixe lunch -- a divine roasted pepper soup... More

Great place to hide in the shade on the verdant outdoor patio. Food was awesome and Daniel was an excellent server. Nice cocktail, beer and wine list too. Wish we could've had lunch there each day.

When the weather is just too hot down on the beach, this is the place to come. This restaurant is up in the Mountains, just minutes from Kailua-Kona, HI. It looks like someone's house but is actually an outdoor restaurant. The food is plentiful (my husband and I had to share a plate), and delicious. The price is pretty reasonable... More

Nice outdoor spot for a romantic dinner or brunch. The food was very good. I had the 3 egg Frittata and my husband had the Huevos Rancheros. The service was a little slow, but the wait was worth it.

I had big hopes for the food here, based on the previous reviews. My husband and I went 4 times to the place and while the serving staff was always very friendly and informative, the food was about 1/3 of the time very good and the other 2/3 just okay to maybe too salty.
