A bit out of the way if staying in kona but the drive is worth it. The setting is tropical, the service is a bit slow but only noticeable if the tree frogs are not singing. The food is absolutely wonderful and a welcome change from the noise of downtown. Be sure to visit the potter next door.

I had brunch here at 10am one morning, walking over from the Kona Hotel where I was staying. Lovely terrace surrounded by tropical plants, and I had the place all to myself for the first half hour. The waitress was attentive. The cup of coffee was bottomless. And my grilled mahi-mahi wrapped in bacon was perfect. Probably worth the drive... More

The atmosphere is magical but the service isn't. The pumpkin soup and the Caprese salad were very tasty. But soup needed warming up and our server didn't check in on us. After a lengthy wait, the entrees were good but nothing special. Again our server neglected to check to see how mains were. The delivery of another glass of wine... More

This restaurant was the standout of our 7 dinners in Kona. It was almost too good to be true. Ambiance was fantastic, and reminded us of dining in the Blue Bayou restaurant in Disneyland, but this had a real soundtrack. Food was excellent, service was efficient, and timing was perfect; not slow, not fast. The waiter actually grew the vegetables... More

I looked up this cafe before we came, and read good reviews about it - otherwise, I doubt we would have ever stopped by something so hidden and quaint. Thank goodness we did! The cafe is cozy and filled with interesting decor - jewelry for sale, books to read, board games to play... almond milk and honey for sale, and... More

The menu is a bit expensive, but the food was very good. Typical service that is on island time, which was no problem. Nice seating area outside in the shade.

We enjoyed a family dinner out at the Holuakoa Café in August 2014. This was my second visit for dinner. This is a location not to be missed. The atmosphere is incredibly charming - open air, Asian influence - just gorgeous, and the food matches the atmosphere. Don't miss the homemade bread, wonderful pasta, and fabulous desserts. The wine list... More

They gave us $ back for my meal, which was terrible. My husband's and son's meals were slightly better, but all in all, I would not recommend anything about the restaurant except the atmosphere. The food was really substandard and pricey.

Wow! I had my wedding reception here. I had a custom menu made and Duane made a point to have several conversations with me to make sure I was happy with everything. The atmosphere was absolutely stunning, the decor perfect, and the service left nothing to be desired. I cannot rave enough about this place! The hubby and I will... More

We had lunch here twice. It is beautiful setting. The service is terrific and the food was wonderful across the board both times we ate there. Absolutely will go out of my way to eat here again.
