Lovely Cafe, Unique Delicious Menu, Old Hawaii Atmosphere

On a short window-shopping trip to the art galleries and shops in little Holualoa village we stopped in at this cafe for lunch. I had the BBQ pork sandwich with fuji apple slaw. omg. So tasty. My friends items were just as good (pumpkin soup, fresh tuna melt) and we all drooled over the vanilla... read more

This restaurant has a great chef and wonderful food. Be aware that it is a slow food restaurant, and don't be in a hurry to get in, gulp down a meal, and then leave. Every dish they serve is made with local ingredients, and the combination of flavors is just outstanding. We especially loved the pumpkin soup! It's located in... More

Delightful setting to enjoy brunch or dinner. Food is farm to table Fresh, local & large portions I had a meza plate with grilled fish. Scrumptious, although fish a little salty Waiter was very helpful in assisting to select our entrees Great Latte

This "slow food restaurant" is located in the artist community of Holualoa, which is on Mamalahoa Hwy. at the 1,400 foot level above the town of Kailua-Kona. They serve breakfast (brunch), lunch and dinner. The seating is outdoor amidst the tropical plantings, although there is a small dining area on an upstairs balcony when they are full below. There is... More

We had been to Holuakoa Gardens & Cafe on a previous visit so it was on our list of places to return. It was even better than we remembered! This is a "slow" food restaurant with koi and a garden to provide a very relaxing atmosphere. We had two delightful servers who helped each other at the tables so we... More

One of the better looking cafes in Hawaii, though do not be tricked by the fact that they're far up the hill - there is no view. Great sandwiches, deserts, decent coffee. It could have been our favorite Hawaiian place if not the terrible service provided by a 'dude' acting waiter, who seemed to be completely out of place. He... More

We were driving the upper twisting mountain rod hugging the cliffs at the 2,000 foot elevation in the hills behind Kailua Kona when we stopped in the quaint little town of Holuakoa. There are several art galleries in town but the one restaurant we almost walked by. No noticeable sign but "cafe" in weathered paint on blue building. Driving pas... More

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the restaurant adjacent to the cafe this evening, and every aspect of it was fantastic and memorable. There were three of us. We started the evening with mango mai tais, and they were everything a drink should be. We shared the brie and olive bruschetta, and that was also phenomenal. Two of us had... More

We ate here three times in 4 days. Great brunch - one of the best eggs Benny. Frittata was beautifully fluffy. French toast also good. Nice to have freshly squeezed OJ on offer. Prices good value (12-18 for most I think). For dinner, we both enjoyed a roast chicken special. Glazed with balsamic, capers, tomatoes. Around $28 for a main... More

This is a beautiful place. It has a great menu. All of the food is fresh. This was our first stop after landing in Kona. It helped us get in the feeling of being on a tropical island.
