In the coffee belt overlooking Kona sits a true gem. The cafe is discreetly hidden and houses a natural beauty. An outdoor venue protected by high roofs and bordering a koi pond, the small and charming eatery serves extraordinary food and A List service. The restaurant is best experienced through its back entrance. We followed our GPS and started to... More

We've eaten breakfast and lunch here and both were great. Very tropical and relaxing ambiance. From the excellent hamburgers to the amazing pancakes it was all good. Lots of choices for veggie eaters, too. We had a small reception and they handled the 24 of us quite we'll. totally worth the short drive up to Holualoa and enjoy all the local... More

The outdoor garden setting was nice and the food was cooked fresh with no problems with substitutions or alterations. The service was friendly and found answers for all of our questions.

To try to limit my words to less than 100 may be difficult. From the setting, to the food, to the service. This place steps out of the box. Your service will take a while. They may only have one chef doing all the cooking. Your meal is cooked fresh. The menu is based on what was fresh at the... More

We had Sunday "lunch" which was amazing even arriving at 2pm. Excellent atmosphere and the food was excellent. If you're looking for great food off the beaten track, I recommend this one.

Lovely setting with whimsical garden outlook the Holuakoa Cafe is worth the visit. The food uses a range of local produce and is very fresh and after a lot of heavy meals it was very refreshing to eat clean, healthy and tasty food. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. As we were staying across the road at the divine Holualoa... More

Another lovely lunch! Fresh, local produce is featured. Portions are very large. There are always tasty specials or standard favorites like their BBQ pork or fresh fish sandwich. The garden setting is serene and the town's shops are interesting to browse through. Service is attentive but can be slow. Relax and enjoy! After all, you're in Hawaii.

This is my 5th time on the Big Island, I've been to many places on it (some others reviewed on this site), and I can say the best meal I've had on the island. I first came here 1.5 years ago, and remember it being excellent then too, so it's good to know that it's staying solid. The seating is... More

I loved my salad. Grilled romaine, warm beets, gorgonzola, steak, all fabulous! Also, the setting is lovely with gorgeous gardens, koi, and a quaint gitshop. This is off the beaten path but well worth it. Best meal of my vacation.

Loved all the tasty preparation of fresh locally grown organic food. Try their vegetarian quiche. So creamy & yummy. Loved the garden atmosphere. So refreshing. Staff was very helpful answering any questions we had.
