We have eaten at this restaurant several times for lunch and dinner over the past two years. Located in the small artsy town of Holualoa, it is very convenient if you are staying in the Kailua-Kona area. This is somewhere to go if you want to relax and visit while enjoying creative cooking done with locally grown ingredients creatively prepared... More

We were looking forward to having lunch here as we had heard this was a excellent restaurant . After being seated, we waited about twenty minutes before the waitress came to take our order, another 15 minutes before our beverages were arrived. When three of four lunch orders were finally served she said would be back with the last lunch... More

We have been to the Big Island a number of times and had also driven through Holualoa early in the morning. This afternoon, we had had a leisurely day of tasting coffee and just enjoying the day and came back through this area around 2:00pm. We stopped to see if they were still serving lunch and yes, we were in... More

We came here for dinner one night after hearing good reviews and also because we were staying in Holualoa and had driven by a few times and it looked gorgeous at night! Reservations are recommended. The setting is beautiful ... you get to dine under the stars and the property is lit up with fairy lights. The restaurant uses all... More

We visited this place twice during our recent vacation in Kona. It's out-of-the-way, to be sure, but it's sure worth the drive. The setting is beautiful, and the food is amazing! Everything is extremely fresh and delicious. We had one of the best burgers ever! Enjoy the restaurant and the coffee shop in this very interesting little town.

Holualoa is a village that we didn't know was there the first few years we came to Kona. Friends introduced us to it and we return several times on each annual visit now. From the road it looks like a run down coffee shop because there is no signage for the restaurant that is next door. It's in the garden... More

Nestled in the quiet, lush green landscape on the slopes of Holualoa is Holuakoa Cafe. First, the spectacular view of Kona and her simmering blue ocean as you drive up the winding two lane road. Look carefully of you'll miss it blending in with the lush landscape. Outdoor or indoor seating available. Fresh food - local greens and products used.... More

What a pleasant surprise to find this amazing restaurant tucked away in Kona. The atmosphere is lovely and the food is simply heavenly. We spent a week on the Big Island and ate there three times (one brunch, two dinners). We tried a lot of the dishes, but among the best... french toast (a brunch must), the brisket and an... More

Went to this cafe on the recommendation of a local. Limited parking on the street. Walked into the store & saw a menu board with bagel or croissant sandwiches. Bagels in cooler were Costco brand. We're going to leave when we saw people sitting outside to the right. Looked much more appealing but thought it was a different restaurant. We... More

We went to this restaurant because it is recommended in "Big Island: Revealed". The setting and the staff are very nice but the food is poorly prepared, even I would cook fish better (it was super dry and the garnish didn't seem very imaginative or interesting). For a nearly $40 entree, we really expected something more impressive.
