We had breakfast there when we visited Hilo, Hawaii. Really nice staff, very helpful with our somewhat problematic requests. I had a BLT sandwich which was really fresh. My husband had the veggie melted cheese sandwich which was nice also. Had a couple of lemonades to go with.

I had a wonderful ranch chicken sandwich on focaccia bread--all homemade and very tasty. My husband enjoyed his sandwich just as much. There is a wide range of desserts as well. It is a very popular place with locals--not on the "tourist routes". Worth it!

Some foods are good but most desserts are previously frozen and do not have fresh flavor. Most of all, incredibly rude manager and owner. Also no bathroom to wash your hands before you eat their $10-12 sandwitches. Even children are not allowed to wash hands at thier sink behind the counter. Poor Hilo customers go there because there are no... More

I have been here many times and the food is very good and there are a lot of dessert selections to chose from. Usually there is only one person taking your order and delivering your food so be patient because a long line can form very quickly. The prices aren't cheap however they are reasonable and the food is good.... More

Short and Sweet is mostly a carry out sandwich/ dessert restaurant, but there are a couple of wrought iron garden-type tables inside and out where you can sit and enjoy your meal. If you choose to sit inside, you will be right there next to the group of people waiting for their sandwiches, so don't expect an intimate and private... More

This was a really cute bakery that we stopped in to kill some time before going to Mauna Kea. The guy that worked there was really nice and helpful. We had the Nutella mouse cake, homemade Oreo, and some citrusy bar (can't remember the name). Great bakery!

We happened to be in Hilo on a Sunday morning and wanted an early lunch. Short&Sweet Bakery had a nice brunch menu in addition to their regular menu. The bakery/cafe is not in an idealic location across the street from the local paper, but hey, it's Hawaii and there is beauty everywhere. I ordered the quiche which included a garden... More

Being from California we have had many different Panini sandwiches. This little gem of a bakery is a must stop when in Hilo, Hi. Best Panini ever and the bakery has the most variety of baked goods one could ask for. Very clean, very personable, very good. When on the island, this is one of our main stops!

If you crave some really good fresh pastry and you're in Hilo, this is the place to go. Nice staff, all kinds of interesting, innovative and classical types of pastry that just taste very good. Also serve drinks and have a nice terrace outsides

After checking out places closer to the ocean in Hilo, we had a shop keeper recommend Short n Sweet Bakery & Café. It was perfect for what we wanted, a light lunch on a hot day. It is a couple of blocks from Lincoln Park & several blocks from the "tourist" section of the city. The bakery is modern, with... More
