I ordered a slice of banana cream pie, chocolate chip cookie dough truffles, lemon meringue cookies, chocolate chip cookies, tahitian vanilla & strawberry marshmallows, creme brulee and a Nutella mousse bar. My sons loved the cc cookies and banana cream pie. The creme brulee was so delicious, but very tiny. The only bad thing about our first and only visit... More

We stumbled upon this while looking for a quick coffee and breakfast. What a find! Lovely sweet treats as well. Get the flavored marshmallows.

This is probably the best coffee shop in Hilo. The sandwiches are great, and the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Excellent place for a small dessert.

I love this little cafe/bakery. I noticed people coming in buying macaroons by the dozens, so I had to try one. Really delicious! Have found other ono gluten-free options here too! Nice little place to treat yourself to relaxing coffee & sweet thing. And they have happy hour on many of their pastries from 2-4:30.

Based on several reviews we decided to try our luck on desserts. We were disappointed. They had a limited selection that was overpriced. We still bought a few items to taste them and we were disappointed. Don't go there for desserts/pastries. However we noticed locals placing orders for large wedding cakes, so I guess that is the specialty.

We had breakfast there when we visited Hilo, Hawaii. Really nice staff, very helpful with our somewhat problematic requests. I had a BLT sandwich which was really fresh. My husband had the veggie melted cheese sandwich which was nice also. Had a couple of lemonades to go with.

I had a wonderful ranch chicken sandwich on focaccia bread--all homemade and very tasty. My husband enjoyed his sandwich just as much. There is a wide range of desserts as well. It is a very popular place with locals--not on the "tourist routes". Worth it!

Some foods are good but most desserts are previously frozen and do not have fresh flavor. Most of all, incredibly rude manager and owner. Also no bathroom to wash your hands before you eat their $10-12 sandwitches. Even children are not allowed to wash hands at thier sink behind the counter. Poor Hilo customers go there because there are no... More

I have been here many times and the food is very good and there are a lot of dessert selections to chose from. Usually there is only one person taking your order and delivering your food so be patient because a long line can form very quickly. The prices aren't cheap however they are reasonable and the food is good.... More

Short and Sweet is mostly a carry out sandwich/ dessert restaurant, but there are a couple of wrought iron garden-type tables inside and out where you can sit and enjoy your meal. If you choose to sit inside, you will be right there next to the group of people waiting for their sandwiches, so don't expect an intimate and private... More
