Hole in the wall, great food.

Chang Mai Fried Rice and Pineapple Fried Rice were outstanding! Spiciness is adjusted to your liking. We love the Red Curry with pumpkin but it had too much pumpkin! Coconut and mango ice creams felt fresh - you can feel tiny pieces of fruit in them. At the time we arrived, there were not that... read more

There were 5 of us for a late lunch. We were sat in the second room which was extremely hot. No one else was in that room and only one table of customers were in the entry room. We asked to move to the other cooler room, and the server said "No. It will get too crowded." Then he said... More

We got take-out from here last night. We tried to eat at our fav, Sombat, but they are closed on Sundays. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. I had the yellow curry. It was very sweetly flavored with coconut milk and had lots of chicken and vegetables. Rest of family had Tom Yum soup. Husband ranks it... More

The Oriental hotel in Bangkok has one of the finest Thai restaurants in Thailand, The green Curry here in Hilo, Hawaii reminded me of why I liked the first Coconut –green Curry I had in Thailand 30 years ago. Get it at medium heat, sso that you don't mask the subtle undertones of a good green curry. The prices are... More

We have traveled around the world and were taken by surprise to find some of the best Thai food ever. try their green curry and squid salad. Squid is boiled and then grilled which is the only right way to have squid hard to fine but worth it when you can find it absolutely one of the best restaurants we... More

This was our first visit, later in the evening. We shared a red curry (#40 I believe) with chicken and shrimp. The curry sauce and shrimp were tasty (the chicken a little dry) and there was a delightful variety of veggies cooked to perfection. The ambiance is refreshing, after the TV was turned off (at our request). The restaurant is... More

Chaing Mai offers Thai food as good as any we ate in Thailand and the price is very reasonable. The quantity is large so we easily had enough left over for lunch the next day.

I tried another Thai in Hilo--Sombats-- for convenience, and found it way below par. Even the Thai iced tea was weak there! Later I went to Chiang Mai with local friends and we all loved it. I agree with other reviewers that the Buddharama is great. On First Fridays they have a wonderful singer doing the Great American Songbook. Delightful.... More

We were referred here by a local resident so we stopped in to have lunch. Their calamari appetizer was the best we have ever had! I had the Buddaha Rama sauce with chicken (coconut milk/peanut sauce/red curry) and my husband had the Ginger Ahi. Both were excellent! The plates are huge and we took 1/2 of our food back to...
