We ate here twice and enjoyed both visits. The first time we had the Hakuna burger with waffle fries. Very tasty and filling! The second time we had coconut shrimp tikis. The presentation was so cute! Five jumbo shrimp rolled in coconut and crushed macadamia nuts and placed on skewers into a thick juicy slice of fresh grilled pineapple. There... More

We enjoyed two daily breakfasts at the Coconut Grill while staying at the Hilo Seaside Hotel. Both days we were served by the most friendly and capable waiters!! Though we were coupon customers (breakfast included in the hotel room rate), we were treated as well as any other customers. 3 choices of breakfast were offered on the coupon.

Feels like home here, we've stayed at the hotel more than once and like to come back to the restaurant when we can. Good food, pleasant service, filling and nutritious salad bar.

Loved the window showing the water level during 1957 & 1960 tidal waves! Nice decor. Wait staff were very nice. Breakfasts were good. Had one dinner & that was good too.

The wait staff were very friendly and efficient. The food is much better than the average roadside cafe and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed sharing a luau platter with banana leaf-wrapped pork, poi, rice, coconut flan and ahi poke. The salad bar was good and the drinks reasonably priced. No $20 martinis here.

Staff is friendly and food is well prepared and served generous amounts. Do not expect to eat something past 8:00pm as when we arrived after 12 hours of air travel. The staff told us they ran out of the food. Maybe because it was Christmas Day?

Food good, ambience ok. Could use an update to compare it with sister property Ponds next door. Menu was average, and the salad bar plate was tiny for 3.99 Main meal made up for the skimpy salad bar and the service was solid

This place hasn't been around that long and it doesn't look like much from the outside but it has pretty decent food. The ahi and seafood plates were very tasty.

We walked around Hilo bay and stopped for a coffee and looked at the menu and decided to try the breakfast. Ordered coffee, (one of the best we have had this holiday in Hawaii ) and ordered breakfast. I had a steak omelet with mushrooms, it had chunks of the most moist and softest steak around, and there was plenty... More

We have come to this place 4 times now. No matter how hard we try. We always miss the lunch hours, and have to eat the happy hour menu. Maybe daddy plans it that way. The chopped steak pupu @ $6 is the best chopped steak I has ever tasted. Good mixed drinks, and cheap beer on tap
