Nice setting, good food and service

After our zipline tour, we asked the staff for a good place to eat on the water in Hilo, and were directed to this cafe. It is right on the bay, and the upstairs outside seating area is perfect for water views. The inside looked good as well, with a nice bar area. The four of us were really... read more

I have read some of the reviews that this should be the top restaurant in the area. The new location is very nice and new modern interior. Missing air con does not matter as it is close to the bay. The menu is nice to international standard though half Japanese. The food was nicely presented though average. Too dark fried... More

We walked to this restaurant from our hotel (Hilo Hawaiian Hotel), located by the Lili'uokalani Park. Food was very good with excellent service.

Finally! Fine dining in Hilo that's better than fine! Tasty cocktails, sushi, seafood, apps, salads and entrees abound. You'll have trouble deciding what to order. We tried the Hibiscus cocktail (yummy!), the Cobb salad with Scotch egg (awesome) and the Rainbow roll (super tasty & fresh with excellent smoked salmon). The service here is excellent and super attentive, even on... More

The serene atmosphere of the lagoon setting is enough to swept away anyone who are more customed to the Big City lives. Even if the intentions of making a business proposal didnt come through n yet, u can probably manage to cut a deal in real estate. The bar n the presentation of food served are totally up to the... Happened upon this on a location restaurant finder, great view of the bay from the second story patio. I had the most delicious scallops with forbidden rice, my husband had the special pasta with Kalua pork and orecchiette, my friend had the fish and chips. See the photos I have attached , the food was magnificent and service wonderful. Highly... More

This restaurant was recommended by the Volcano Winery staff. Located on the bay and up on stilts you get a fantastic view of the water. We sat outside but they also have indoor seating. The food and drink menu had a good variety. I had the crab cake salad and my spouse ordered the fish and chips. Both meals were... More

The Hilo Bay Café is the nicest, upscale restaurant we have found on the island of Hawaii. The décor is modern and the menu choices far from the normal fare on the island. Our meal was excellent. We ordered the carrot, ginger soup and the focaccia bread to begin the meal. The soup was a nice blend of the carrot... More

Don't miss the Bay Blue burger (Blue Bay?), it's great. Perfectly done & topped well, seems to be the house speciality. Very nice atmosphere & service

Had a wonderful meal here prior to the last night of the Merrie Monarch Festival. Everything was scrumptious! Particularly liked the Kauai shrimp & something called chirashizushi - lots of sushi grade fish - excellent.
