Humble but neat and welcoming; and not bursting with tourists. I had Pho Tai and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Both were excellent. Veg were fresh and flavorful. Service was good, too. I wish they were closer to me -- I'd be in there several times a week. One of the best things I ate during my stay in Hawaii.

I found this place while walking to The Ponds to look at the lunch menu. Never made it to the Ponds! Ordered their garlic shrimp and got a hefty plate of delicious rice and green beans with four shrimp. I would have liked more shrimp but the meal was delicious and nicely priced. In Hilo there aren't many places with... More

Walk in and find a table in the dining room that feels like a big kitchen in a private home. A very small boy will likely walk over to your table and try to talk to you in his baby talk with his very pregnant mother (the waitress and daughter in law of the owners) following close behind. The dish... More

I had a great bowl of Pho here. One of the best I've ever had, even edging out my own mother. My boyfriend ordered the only non-Vietnamese thing on the menu and he loved it too. He got pad thai and he loved it.

I have been there a few times since moving to Hilo two months ago, and the Pho is excellent, as were the other dishes I had there. A very small place so it pays to get there a little before the lunch ruch. Service is fast and friendly.

This is one of the places that I have visited that I have a hard time reviewing. I don't want to let everyone how good this place is because I don't want to be standing in line behind you! The service is fast and the food is great. It's not a place you want to go if your looking for... More

We spent 8 days in Hawaii and have not gotten a decent meal. Finally a decent and hearty meal. The pho and soup was great. It is not fine dining but the food was great.

If you like pho and other Vietnamese dishes, then this is the place to go to in Hilo. My partner and I regretted that we didn't head to this place the night before. We went to Ken's House of Pancakes, although they had a huge variety of food on the menu, the quality was not there because I ordered their... More

You will fall in love with the food here! I am crazily hooked on Vietnamese Beef Stew, which is a flavorful brothy stew with vegetables and beef cooked so slowly that it falls apart when you bite into it. It still has some "chew" but it is tender and delicious! They will bring you the usual fresh, crunchy veggies to... More

Been eating at New Saigon for a while now and never have I had a bad meal. From meat load to the phunky phresh pho, you can't go wrong. Give the Singapore Curry fried noodles a try. It is definitely one of their most awesomest dishes. You will not be disappointed.
