We hesitated before walking into this small hole in the wall, finally lured in by the friendliness of the owner/chef de salle/only waitress. We were in for a double pleasant surprise - the food is multinational and very good! Yummy chicken katsu, Indian curry, falafel, lamb pita sandwich, fresh salad, excellent flavoured rice, etc. Very much in character with the... More

Just happened upon this place after two other restaurants were closed on a Monday. Nice portions of flavorful foods. Grilled ahi with salad and curry rice, and coconut fried shrimp with the same sides. Tasty, fresh, colorful food with fast and friendly service. Near the waterfront. Don't hesitate to try them!

this was a great find on our time in Hilo. Its a tiny place, with limited hours(we were there before they opened for dinner). When I saw the place I wasn't sure I wanted to wait until they opened. but I'm glad we did, they had healthy portions of local food and it was an enjoyable meal.

I would never have eaten at this place without reading the trip advisor reviews. Hole in the wall but food was great. They were out of the falafel, bummer. But we got the ahi pita and a green salad. The salad was super fresh, the garbanzo beans were freshly boiled. The ahi pita was very ono, the flavoring was amazing... More

One plate, two words: AHI DON! Whenever I'm asked where I want to eat lunch in Hilo, this is it. It's hidden in a small blue corner in downtown. The service has been exceptional every single time I've dined-in or picked-up. And the food...man oh man...a light leafy fresh green salad with a balsamic dressing and curry rice is a... More

Yelpers recommended Puka Puka for plate lunch but there was no classic Hawaiian to be found there. Still, serendipity provided a tasty plate of spiced meat, rice and salad that was all good anyway. Not the place to go if you don't like melamine and vinyl. (Bonus: convinced my husband to use Trip Advisor exclusively when looking for recommendations.)

We stopped by for lunch while we were strolling through downtown Hilo. It's a total hole in the wall place but the food was outstanding! I had the vegetarian curry and my husband had the lamb. I have never tasted lamb that was so flavorful - whatever marinade they used, I want the recipe. Cooked to perfection and tender. Yummy!... More

We enjoyed the BBQ chicken and the chicken katsu. A must try! The garlic fried rice is to die for. The staff is friendly and attentive.

We were staying on the Kona side of the Big Island for 10 days, and decided to drive round the island and see the rain forests, water falls, Hilo, Volcano etc. For lunch time we were in Hilo. After touring the Lyman Museum we asked the receptionist there for a recommendation of a good place for a local seafood lunch.... More
