Delicious and affordable

We went here while in Hilo for a late dinner. The place is small, but the people are very friendly. We ordered a salad (small) and a special of the day (ahi tuna and scallop bento). The portion sizes were enormous and the salad dressing was delicious. My wife couldn't stop eating it! The... read more

Fast service and tasty food top the list here - this is a small restaurant with limited seating so do not be surprised if no tables are available. This place is very popular with local residents as well, but they do offer take out and 'bento' options for lunch! We had the Ahi Katsu Don and the Pita sandwich, both... More

My wife and I had the lamb dish and the ahi pita for lunch. The waitress was very kind to help us select a dish without garlic for my wife. The service was very quick and the price was reasonable. Make sure you arrive in time because this is a popular place with not not too many tables. (They also... More

My wife and I hit town and after looking at Tripadvisor we decided to try this place for a quick lunch. The Ahi was great and the staff was delightful.

Great little treasure. Best Ahi steak I have ever had, accompanied by a fresh salad and garlic rice. A lot of seafood freshly battered and deep fried to order. It is small (maybe 4-5 tables) but worth a visit if you are visiting Hilo.

very small place, and certainly does not look 5 star.........but the best food we've had out in a long time including where we went for dinner tonight at twice the price. I had local fish dish and my wife had coconut prawn (whoops, forgot they are called shrimp in the u.s.) and both came with a beautiful tasty rice and... More

Amazing little place - the queue out the door says it all! Beautiful fresh food, cooked to order. I particularly liked the chicken pitta with salad. Service friendly and efficient. A must visit when in Hilo.

My son had veggie Don and I has tried oysters. We were both very pleased with our lunch. The oysters were everything, not the frozen preface stuff.

Had time before we went zip-lining and asked for a good place to have lunch. They recommended Puka Puka which is a local favorite. The restaurant offers a variety of tasty local dishes. We had the Vegetable Don Plate, which has tempura style fresh vegetables, with fried rice (which was very flavorful) and salad. We also had the Chicken Pita,... More

Fabulous special of fried ono and fried oysters, with salad and garlic rice! Attentive and cheerful service. We certainly would have frequented this spot had we been in Hilo longer.
