This local favorite has been around for years. It was formerly located closer to the ocean, but a tsunami level it in short order. The food is served in generous portions, easy parking and plenty of outside table space to sit and enjoy your meal. It has a very wide menu selection of local favorites. An establishment with solid values,... More

If you want to try and eat what the locals eat. Look no further. this is the place. Long lines but great food. Well worth the trip. The loco moco was the best around and the plate lunches were to die for.

We stopped here because all the guide books and locals recommended it. OMG it was so bad we couldn't eat more than a few bites, and even that made us sick for two days. My sons ordered burgers and I ordered a fresh fish plate lunch. Wish I had never stopped. Instead just a couple of blocks away is Hilo... More

We were in Hilo for the day and decided to eat at Café 100. 45 minutes after eating there, I wished we would have kept driving. First of all the area that the restaurant is located in is very sketchy. Run down hotels, shops with bars on the windows and the police were sitting on two suspects right around the... More

We read a lot of good reviews of Café 100 before we decided to eat there. There were quite a few positive reviews here, and in the "Blue Book" and Fodor's. We found the food to be mediocre at best. Perhaps their much raved about loco moco is good, but don't go here looking for plate lunch.

Walk up window to order. Took a bit of time to get because it was so crowded. Lots of local folks and local food. Food was good but not fantastic but priced reasonable.

We never miss a stop at Cafe 100 when we're in Hilo. Hands down the most affordable and consistently good traditional Hawaiian on the Big Island. I am addicted to their chicken Katsu, but have also tried their Loco Mocos and many other Hawaiian plate lunches. It can be very busy at times, but well worth the (minimal) wait. Excellent... More

Cafe 100 was a huge disappointment. I love testing and eating plate lunch at various restaurants on the islands. Unfortunately, Cafe 100 was one of the worst. Stick with L&L.

You can make their food at home: put white rice on a plate, microwave a frozen and/ or fried piece of protein, add a can of brown gravy and top it with a fried egg. No wonder why the joint is cheap. Ugh. Terrible.

Great food, so many choices. Not sure-just ask, staff is very friendly. Love the open air dining which is an option at so many HI places. There is just something charming about picking up an order that has been packed in a small cardboard box. Great prices too!
