Nice lunch

We met a friend from Hilo after the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival here for lunch. We haven't seen her in a couple of years and she recommended this restaurant when we said we wanted to have japanese food for lunch. This restaurant opened around 11:00 am and we were there right at that time. The food... read more

We have been to Miyo's several times and have never been disappointed. We visit Hawaii a lot and this is one of our favorite restaurants. The portions are large and the person playing the guitar and singing is great. This restaurant does get crowded and reservations would be advised. Depending on the time of the year you go if the... This little home style Japanese restaurant is a nice place to have a laid back dinner. I had the Tofu Steak, which I would order again in a heartbeat. They open at 5pm but go a little early because people will already be waiting. The seating is comfy at old wooden tables that seat 4or 2, and they have comfy... More

Service was excellent and the food exceeded my expectation for portion and presentation. It satisfied my belly very much and now my husband can't wait to go back to order the same thing! Thanks for your amazing service!

This place is very popular with the locals. If weather permits, choose a two-seat table outside to avoid indoor crowd and noise. Service? Very good. My wife ordered the eggplant appetizer which she really liked but I thought was missing a little "zing" in the flavors. My lunch Bento combo included shrimp tempura, rice, miso soup, and I opted for... More

First time checking this place out....wanted to like it more than I did. Super busy when we got there....be sure to make reservations for dinner. Menu is complicated and extensive, no pictures and not much description. We ordered the pupu special which had eggplant, fried oysters, poke, and fried tofu. Everything was tasty, but the dinner went downhill after that.... More

I live here and have been to the older Miyo's and although it wasn't the best Japanese cuisine in town, we went there on occasion and it was passable. Until my niece found a roach in her salad. Ugh, it was gross. But as the restaurant moved to the newer location, we decided to go and it was again.. passable.... More

Stopped at Island Candies across the street then came here. Waitress was in hurry and not friendly. Food came quick. Just not the best. I am not going to go back.

Miyo's was recommended by our host in Hawaii and we were grateful! They serve authentic Japanese food that's fresh and prepared wonderfully. I had the fish of the day done in tempura batter and it was yummy! My husband had the tempura shrimp and said it was fantastic. They can get quite crowded so try and do your dining in... More
