If you know Hilo, you would be hard pressed to find a better Japanese restaurant in this town. By far and away the best atmosphere and food. The special combo that let's you choose two choices and also comes with tempura and sashimi is my go to favorite. If there is any downside to this amazing restaurant is that it... More

Being fans of Miyo’s for many years, we like its new location - with a cool, stylish bathroom (remember the hideous bathroom at the old location?) and much, much better lighting (warm, beautiful ceiling lamps instead of glaring neon tubes!!!) Yes, we miss the view of the Waiakea lagoon, but Miyo’s new dinning room is so welcoming and cozy -... More

I love Miyo's. Everything or rather every dish is simple yet done perfectly. I love the Sesame Chicken and the Fried Tofu is quite the appetizer. I think Miyo's will be around for a long time. It's has a homey feel to it, the atmosphere is perfect, you don't feel crowded even though it's a small place and the food... More

Miyo's moved to a location that is no longer a "beautiful view" location, BUT, they still have the great food they always have had and the new place is very stylish. This is not a "luxury fancy" restaurant. IT is a great restaurant with great food. The sesame chicken dinner with salad is excellent. I can't order anything else whan... More

love the place- really good food (usually) and often a musician on guitar. Reservations REALLY RECOMMENDED. I guess being in a hurry wont work, but the food is so fresh, and abundant salad w/ homemade dressing. I like their curry don plate w/ ahi or salmon - well there are many good dishes. Home made ice cream too- if you've... More

Actually, we are off to Miyo's again. the food is great...the only thing is that you have to work to make sure that the serving staff doesn't forget you, or forget to bring your tea or water. the restaurant is conveniently located. The food is consistently good. Their salads are fresh and beautifully presented, and I personally love their dressing.... More

On Wednesday, we ate at Miyo's in Hilo. We arrived at 11:15 only to find the place packed with people but luckily we made reservations. As the place was packed inside and outside, service was slow. After taking our orders, we had our meeting which took only about 10 minutes. Unfortunately we waited over half an hour to get our... More

In the last two days, we have eaten dinner and lunch at Miyo's at their new location. The service was very friendly although it was a little harried at dinner due to a big crowd. The food is really good. I had grilled Hamachi with sautéed eggplants, salad and rice and my husband had a bento box with tempura and... More

New location, same bad service. The staff almost seems inconvenienced to help you. Be prepared to wait and wait, even though there is about ten cooks in the open kitchen. The tempura was not crispy but oily and the dipping sauce was not flavorful. The sesame chicken had a tasty sauce but was over cooked, same with the pork tonkatsu.... More
