You can have breakfast anytime of the day. I had the mac nut short stack and it was 3 large pancakes. They were covered in fresh Mac nut chunks and served with coconut, guava, and Liliuokalani syurips. Yum !

I liked the crab meat omelet and make the pancakes "red, white, and blue." When I tried another other than breakfast food, I was disappointed.

Great place for locals and tourist alike. This is a must stop place while your in town. They are open 24hrs and have so many choices you just got to close your eyes and jab with your finger. Very good food large portion sizes but if you want to go bigger go with the sumo plates. Those are BIG.

The full parking lot was our first clue this was going to be great, the second was the strong local following it had. This was not just a tourist dive but a pillar of the community. All the food ordered exceeded our expectations. Waitstaff are very friendly and attentive. A real gem or originality in a sea of franchise choices.

Good local food; friendly service. Went to Volcano NP, hiking, then built up a good appetite. Recommend their traditional loco moco and saimin. Went another time after hiking in the botanical gardens and had the namesake "Ken burger" and it was delicious. Nothing fancy; just good local food.

My husband and I have eaten at Ken's at least 30 times in the past few years and every meal has been a winner. I usually order breakfast, which is available around the clock. The Keiki Korner section of the menu (for ages 1 to 101) offers smaller meals for those us who don't need or want a big breakfast.... More

Coffee was good as was the breakfast. Plenty of food to keep you satisfied. Pancakes with the coconut syrup was great. Only complaint I have was that they only served "instant" oatmeal.

We went to Ken's at night for saimin. They have the best reviews on yelp for saimin. Their saimin is better than Big Island Grill's in Kona but not as good as Hamura Saimin Stand in Lihue, Kauai. Went back there for breakfast. Got to try their local pancakes. Disappointed with the macadamia pancake. It was a stack of 3... More

Super clean, amazing service, and superb food. The name of the place leads you to believe it will be inexpensive. It is not. However, we will eat there again every time we are in Hilo!
