Great Place.

Very nice restaurant with good food. It's right in the middle of downtown. A little more expensive than many other places, but worth the extra money. The drinks are superb.

We really enjoyed the food (pizza) and local beers but the desserts were the highlight. It was pretty busy - we booked online, which was easy and avoided any waiting. Food was fresh and tasty. Service a little inconsistent but overall I would go there again.

Great service and fresh food. Nice view of the ocean if you get a window seat. The 80s music playing overhead was nice as well :)

Went here the other night without a reservation and got seated immediately. We ordered a couple of the pasta dishes, a Caesar salad, and the coconut crusted calamari. Everything we ordered was yummy. The service was a bit slow though, but even with that, Cafe Pesto is still one of our favorite restaurants in Hilo.

Although we were staying in Volcano, we drove the short distance to Hilo to check-out the town (very historical, easy to get around and very funky – all in a good way). Lunch soon beckoned and our decision was Café Pesto. Located inside an old Art Deco style building, the inside décor is equally Art Deco – wide open dining... More

This building has been beautifully restored, the background music was pitched at just the right volume, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was very good - and good wine list as well. We will go back again before we leave Hawaii. And it's open on Sunday evenings!

We had a late lunch here one day, but the place was still packed and we were lucky to get a table for 5. Service was, understandably, slow but pleasant. The restaurant has a 1920s feel, elegant and airy, but noisy with the crowd. We all had a different dish, but I believe we were all pleased with our selections.... More

Located in the center of Hilo town. Cafe Pesto is a great spot for fresh local food. A great selection of salads, pasta and fish dishes. It is a go t place for all locals.

Fantastic food, fantastic service a must when you are in Hilo My husband and I had the Ono Sandwich - out of this world - fresh, fresh fish and the pesto dip to die for. My son had the burger there that they grind fresh with mushrooms and he said it was the best burger he has ever had. He... More

The ono sandwich with pesto aioli was delicious. Service was very friendly,on the slower side, but that's why they call it island time.
