How could you go wrong with a burrito the size of a baby?

First of all, the food in lucy's is really good, and really reasonable. The grande burrito (human baby sized) is inhumanly large, but is perfect for sharing, and when split between two people, ends up being just a couple dollars each. They have a good salsa bar, and many other typical mexican items... read more

i was/am a committed reubens fan ... years and years and years! then i found lucy's and i checked it out ...and i say, there is not one better than the other if your going to compare lucks and reubens. AND there are differences and i think anyone with the opportunity should find themselves a lowly fan of either/both. im... More

Great atmosphere. Pretty good food. Members of our group enjoyed burritos and fajitas. We had to take our food out because we needed to cross the island back to Kona; wish we could have enjoyed the socially vibrant atmosphere.

Reading the reviews for this place made us want to try it. It has pretty good California style Mexican food. It's probably the best here (Big Island) for this specific category. They have massive sized burritos, a fun atmosphere, and bus-your-own-table seating (which I love. I think people should always clean up after themselves when not at a sit down... More

This is an amazing place. Really good food in large quantities and $4 margaritas. Truly a bargain. Like all quality bargains is comes with compromises. What are the downsides: Sometimes there are long lines and a crowd. This actually shows you how good they are! You need to wait in line to order at the counter and then you need... More

We were referred here by the owner of our rental house, and we loved it! Lucy's offers a full variety of Mexican food in a fast-casual setting. We had a variety of tacos, some enchiladas, and one of their baby-sized (read: The size of an actual newborn child), and were very happy with everything we ate. We actually ended up... More

Hmmm....I have to say, I was apprehensive about going in and I should've listened to myself. First off, do not try to charge your phone. It's NOT ALLOWED. There was also a lot of Rules, clean up after yourself, bring the glassware to the bar, put your dirty dishes here..etc...I went to eat a taco not work at her restaurant.

We wanted Mexican food our last night in Hilo so we picked Lucy's. They have a little different setup than normal which you will see if you have never gone. Our waitresses, the bartender, and the meals we ordered were all very good. And if your a Mexican restaurant you play Mexican/Spanish music, which they did. Highly recommended.

Our family loves coming here. Efficient service so no worries even if there's a line (and there often is because it's that popular). Friendly staff. Reasonable prices for quality food. Casual and fun atmosphere. The owner had another restaurant on the mainland and her experience clearly shows. Definitely worth a stop for lunch or dinner.

With her very generous portions and aloha spirit Lucy satisfies my yen for Taqueria style Carne Asada, Carnitas and Chili Relleno. Sit in the bar if you want table service ( & everyone in your party's 21+ ) or order a pitcher and take it to your table, be sure and ask for a li hing mui rim.
