We passed by this place on our way elsewhere and stopped in. Lots of different kinds of mochi, all soft and delicious! My daughter really liked the brownie mochi. Staff is super friendly. Would definitely stop by here again next time I'm in Hilo.

This place is a prime example of keeping it simple. Do what you do well and keep it small and focused. The store front is intimate. Each morning people line up to stock up. Once you've had this fresh it will be hard to taste the stale versions.

Mochi was so soft, not too sweet, fresh sweet grapes & strawberry in center. Very well made. Baked lima bean manju & brownie center mochi was my favorite!!!

My daughter wanted to stop here to get mochi, as she'd been introduced to this Japanese dessert by her Japanese language teacher. These are lovely, delicate desserts made from rice with various fillings. Truly artistic food!

Just a simple note. These ladies make the best mochi on the Big Island. Maybe among the best in the whole State of Hawaii. It is always the very freshest it can be. I always buy a colorful basket for my wife on Easter.

Parking is a problem... prepare to walk a couple of blocks because there is no parking lot... just curbside street parking. Also, they are closed on Mondays, and I think Tuesdays too. Next, mochi is sticky and sweet... but not sweet by our American standards.... the texture is like that gooey thing inside the toy eggs that you squish around.... More

Personally I prefer ice cream mochi, but I think the quality was good. I loved seeing all the different varieties and custom orders were also available. The assorted boxes would make a really pretty gift, especially if someone back home was a big mochi fan and you were flying home soon. The owner was very friendly and gave us samples.... More

I have had Mochi before, so I knew what too expect but I was traveling with some newbies. We went there on several recommendations. It would have been nice (even for me) to have some samples available so that we could narrow down what we liked and didn't like before ordering. Also the young lady up front was somewhat inpatient... Now for those of you that like Mochi this place will knock your socks off! Reviews are great and while I had never heard of Mochi I had to try it.....hmmm. Not a fan of squishy fruit flavored bean paste. The flavors were good but the texture is an acquired taste... I found its better if you go back to... More
