We ate here our first night in Hilo because it was handy. We were very happy with the food, service and overall quality. There was live music but it was soft and enjoyable.

We lived in Hilo Hawaiian Hotel and the ponds is just a few walks. We would like to say the atmosphere of the resturant is terrific and we enjoyed a lot..Will visit again if we live nearby

This place has changed hands three times since I've been patronizing it, and this is my first review of the latest owners. I came back here five times in the last year to be certain that they got it right this time. They did. You will be happy with your dinner. Lunch however was a different story. French dip was... Very good food; great entertainment. Entertainment the night we were there was a Hawaiian guitar player/singer. When one of the middle aged ladies requested a special song, he was able to play something that she could do a special hula to - as a treat for her family - I think is was a birthday hula. Overall very folksy/Hawaiian. We... More

This is a nice beach town restaurant over a pond with koi fish ... What you get is a nice relaxing atmosphere and huge choice of all kinds of drinks. It's not a bar, really set up as a sit in restaurant, but the food choices are limited (some salads, burgers, fish-n-chips, some good appetizers), but sufficient. Really good place... More

Yummy meal at this quaint restaurant. The fish and chips were delicious- lightly battered tasty fish. A must drink is the Ponds Flaming Volcano...holy cow! It actually had a flame burning in the middle of the drink for two people. Crab avocado wrap was awesome too.

Sitting over the water with ducks and fish hanging around the restaurant, Ponds has a variety of food including pastas, seafood and steaks. I had the tasty crab stuffed mahi mahi with pasta. Try their special Hawaiian drinks. They had live music the night I was there.

I often stop here on my trips to Hilo. It's a nice place to sit of an afternoon, looking out over the ice pond. Just one thing ticks me... the "happy hour" has it's own menu, but an appetizer on the happy hour menu might be $11, at other hours $12. Really? Did you break a sweat giving us that... More
