The sushi guy in the back is magic. This was great for my gluten free diet with GF soy sauce and a GF menu. WOW! If you're into hot, get the Pele sauce.

Some of the most inventive and delicious food we've had, prepared with enthusiasm, wit and a love for the creative process. The enthusiasm, daring and love for what they are doing make these young chefs great. Reservations a must. Recommendations: shitake poppers, Bombay rolls, Capt'n Crunch and any beverage featuring lilikoi. We'll be back.

If you get anywhere near Hawi, you have to go to Sushi Rock! We had lunch there last week and the owner/manager (Peter) gave us great suggestions on what to have for lunch, including BEEF sushi! Don't get me wrong. The food here is excellent. However, the rolls are unique, but goat cheese and beef tenderloin in a roll? Tasted good but not my type of sushi. It's a kitschy place. I found this restaurant on trip advisor about four months before my trip to Hawaii. It was well worth the wait. The food was absolutely delicious. I will come back every time I am on the big island
