Quaint restaurant in a turn of the century building. The sushi is delicious and great service. Very cool porch/lanai and the restaurant serves as a "white space" for local artistes. Very bohemian and artsy.

My friends (sushi fans) and I (not a fan) ate here while staying in Hawi on a recent trip. They had 3 or 4 types of sushi and pronounced them all wonderful. I had a fresh mahi mahi, which was no better than average. Mine was served with brown rice, which was barely even warm, and a kind of red... More

Nice little place in Hawi on the Big Island. Special rolls I've never seen before. Casual atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly staff, amazing and creative chef! A must on the Big Island! Food just melts in your mouth. Will be back this trip!

We visited Sushi Rock as part of the amazing 'Kohala Grown Farm Tours', and were blown away by how delicious the food was there. Loved the atmosphere and the service, but the food was so incredibly fresh and delicious - best we had on the island. We would definitely go back!!

After an exhilarating morning zip lining at Kohala Zip Line just down the road, our tour guide Liesl suggested this place, among others, to stop for lunch. The moment she mentioned sushi, we were sold. Walked right in and were seated immediately. We sat next to a local couple who simply raved about the place to us. Our waitress, upon... More

We are from New York City and know from sushi. Sushi Rock is some of the best sushi we have had anywhere. The menu has more than that, though, and in my opinion you haven't lived until you've had some Hawaiian poke. I had that evening's special poke, and that was also fantastic. The owner served us (I think) and... More

Living in New York City and being an avid raw fish/sushi fan, I've frequented many places in the Big Apple. Many establishments claim to be the best in NYC but on the other side of the world, Sushi Rocks in Hawi really wears the crown! The owner is also a NYC native!

I can't vouch for the sushi (I don't eat fish) but my dining companions thoroughly enjoyed their meals. And as a "non- sushi eater" I had plenty of choices and enjoyed my meal. Good service, fresh food, fun environment.

Hawaiian sushi is weird, but this trumps them all. There are so many different strange combinations of sushi on the menu that we didn't know where to start! We decided on the Inari as they seemed the most out there. Some worked, some not so much, but my wife enjoyed the unari and seaweed salad one the most. For me,... More

Thanks for taking the time to write. My only response other than thank you is to note that in addition to our "new wave" options we also have alot of traditional fare for sushi purists and are very happy to rely on the freshest fish and purest flavors.Hope to see you again! More

We were just looking for somewhere nearby our B&B for dinner, and were told about Sushi Rock. What a surprise! Excellent food, attentive wait staff, nice surroundings, excellent food, and the food was...well, excellent. And a great selection of non-sushi foods with Trio at Sushi Rock. Eat. Here.
