Food was very good. Had the pulled pork quesadilla appetizer which was very tasty. Relatives had burgers which were good. Local employee did impromptu hula dance which they asked for dollar bills for her newborn's college fund. People seemed to have fun. Good place to go if you are passing by and... read more

Small village location among the galleries again. Really good, sorta pricey, local island style, food. Dinner served Tues.-Sat. 6pm to 8ish. Small gallery & gifts room attached. Local music and hula of Hawaiian style was fun entertainment. Owners seem to be good people and very attentive, even a wee bit fun with you.

Just an update, went for annual visit to Bamboo Restaurant and no disappointment! Special was Mahi Mahi grilled on a bed of penne pasta with spinach and zuchini lightly tossed in a light caper sauce, my favorite--- the bbq pork sandwich, with not to be missed pot stickers. Worth the drive....we love this restaurant. Try the specials and be sure... More

The Bamboo restaurant was voted "The Best Restaurant in the Big Island" and I believe it's true! People flock to the restaurant no matter what hour. The building where the restaurant is historical and was built about a 100 years ago! The Bamboo restaurant is at scenic Hawi at the north part of the island of Hawaii. Before you even... More

We found this place by accident and stopped in for lunch on Easter. They had fresh, local items on the menu, a wonderful gift shop, and provided a hula dance by one of the waitresses that day to support her singing career. My kids loved it and all of us had a great meal.

We made a tour of this side of Havaii and stopped here at our friends Brooks advice. Great food regular prices for the island. If you do get their special margaritas in the coconut watch out for the brain freeze Nice place for a rest during touring also has a shop attached

We enjoyed a variety of menu items including the fresh fish, salad, specialty drinks and dessert. Good food and good service! On this particular day, one of the staff performed a hula -- wonderful surprise! I would definitely visit here again.

Set in a general store that once served the families of sugar planation workers, this location has become a gathering spot for locals and tourists. This eatery is a bit pricy, but the food is seldom matched. The wait staff is compromised locals and certainly have spirit of "aloha"! Service can be a bit slow, so sit back, relax and... More

We've been to the Big Island many times and bumped into Bamboo on an outing exploring the Kohala Coast. It was lunchtime and we stopped at Bamboo, and a tradition was born. Every time we visit, at least one trip to Bamboo is a must. We've never had a bad meal, and every time we have guests who haven't been... More
