I'm sad to hear that this place has closed. I drove up from Kailua-Kona almost exclusively to eat a sandwich at this place, and it was worth the drive. I hope these people are at least using their sandwich expertise elsewhere.

We explored the entire island and were told specifically to stop at the Lighthouse for sandwiches. It was a long drive but it was a quaint little town and the meal did not disappoint. I had the pulled pork and it was terrific. My wife doesn't remember what she had but she remembers she loved it. Sad to see that... More

Read the review about it being open in September so stopped by hoping to try it in October. All closed up so ate at bamboo restaurant next door. Give them a try. Friendly service, fresh food and fish. Cute gallery and gift shopping. To

I live on big island, and over time I have tried all their sandwiches, it's a spectacular selection and great care was taken creating that menu. After reading some of these reviews i just wanted to mention...When you live in Hawaii you understand service in small local places is different than the service found on the mainland, you don't have... We just had lunch here--ordered the New Yorker, described in the menu as pastrami with cole slaw on a kaiser roll. Aye, we were very disappointed. The "kaiser roll" was some sort of a hard bread roll cut in half, not even remotely resembling a kaiser roll; the cole slaw was tasteless and dry; the pastrami was average at best.... More

The Lighthouse Deli is so unexpected in Hawi. It's for the carnivores among us, with large portions of deli meats and tvs tuned to sports channels. If you want a break from all the seafood, it's the place for you!

They have an awesome Reuben sandwich the best on island! They really take pride in their flavors and ingredients. The atmosphere is fun. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who lives in or is visiting kohala!
