The portions were generous and the service was excellent! Remember, if you sit outside, you cannot enjoy alcoholic beverages. Also, some guides describe the deli as being in Kapa'au; it's in Hawi.
We heard about Hawi from some of the folks where we were staying in Kona and made the drive to the northern part of the Island of Hawai'i. We had stopped at Pololu and then headed back for lunch in Hawi. If you sneeze you will miss this town, but be sure to stop and have lunch at The Lighthouse...

Very cute spot, right in the heart of Hawi. We ordered the turkey cranberry and BBQ pork sandwiches. Fantastic!
Delicious freshly made sandwiches, they guys that run this must be from NYC. Great addition to this little town of Hawi

Food was pretty good. A bit pricey. Pulled beef sandwich was the winner in our group. Corned beef was just ok. The pretzel was great.

Whether it is the fresh baked bread, the sauerkraut (which I normally don't like), or just the incredible pastrami, this was the best deli sandwich on the Big Island for sure. Service is a bit slow, partly because of the number of patrons, but it is well worth the wait. We went to Hawi twice just to eat there!
