Very Good Food

Keei Cafe is not your typical cafe or diner. The interior is very smart, and the menu is upscale. The Brazilian seafood chowder was excellent. We had two dinners at Keei during our visit to Hawaii. The food was very good...well prepared and nicely presented with an emphasis on fresh local ingredients. The dining room is attractive and service was good. They don't take credit cards but have an ATM on site. Prices were fair for what was offered.

Note: This is a cash only business. There is an ATM on site. Friendly staff. Live music was performed by a local duo when we were there. We had the eggplant wraps stuffed with couscous and the pho beef soup. I highly recommend both. The other dishes looked great, too. I wish that we would have had time to try... More

Beware before you dine that this place is cash only. We were not aware and ended up with a $77 bill and scrambled for cash (there is an atm if you need it). However, the cafe boasts delicious and fresh fish, and a nice island style fusion menu. Table favorite was the catch of the day appetizer sushi-like wrap (tonight... More

This is a wonderful restaurant off by itself on the highway south of Kona-Kailua toward Captain Cook. We have eaten here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. The menu is not extensive but everything on it is done well. The evening fish specialty is THE dish if you like fish. The half chicken in curry sauce... More

We went here for Valentine's Day on our first night on the Big Island. Understandably, the restaurant was very crowded. The food was quite good and the service was pretty good. The restaurant was very loud, partly because of large parties, but also the acoustics. We were having a difficult time having a conversation. But we certainly enjoyed ourselves.

The evening was topped off tonight as we enjoyed delicious dinner of spearfish Thai curry and jasmine rice. The service was good with a server who was very knowledgeable about the food served and had such a pleasant personality.

My wife & I had dinner here on a Saturday. The cafe was full, there are few places to dine out in Captain Cook. We both had the special, an Ahi Tuna with a passion fruit sauce. I must admit, it was very tasty. However, The food was cold! What a nice dinner and it was cold. I mentioned this... More

I've been in Kona a lot and friends recommended this little restaurant. It was a great find. Excellent food and drinks. Nice entertainment. They do not take credit cards but have an ATM right in front. Owners came to table to check on our food. Staff very nice and was attentive. Good assortment of fresh fish and meats . I... More
