My husband and I visited The Coffee Shack at least 3 times while we were on the Big Island. Our first visit, we ordered a small breakfast. Service was a little slow, but they were busy and the waitress was sincerely apologetic. The next two visits were just quick stops, and I got the same iced mocha coffee all three... More

This small restaurant outside of Captain Cook, Hawaii (Big Island) was recommended to us. It is only open for breakfast and lunch until 3:00 p.m. Prices were right and the breakfast meals of eggs, French toast and bacons were very good. But, it is the view high above the ocean is outstanding! Glad we stopped!

This is a quaint family type restaurant with a never-ending view. The geckos came to visit our table (they stayed on the railing - not actually on our table). The food was delicious and served hot. Great coffee too! Local hang out, but visitors will love it too. It is a bit of a drive south from Kona, but worth... More

We finally stopped there! We weren't hungry so we ordered regular coffee, cappuccino, and pastry. Food and service was good but view was excellent. You must stop by and relax!

We stopped here for lunch after snorkeling Two Steps. Many lunch places were closed on Monday but this place was opened. From the road it doesn't look like much but from the friendly greeting to stepping out to the covered porch area with amazing views, we knew we had found the perfect place for lunch. We got the table in... More

What a neat place this was. Excellent food for lunch and amazing view from the back, especially if you get the tables overlooking. The soup comes with a slice of their macadamia bread which is delicious and the bowl is huge. All four of our party tried different items from the menu and all were excellent. Great Kona coffee and... More

Worth a stop on your way to the scenic route. I've heard they have amazing eggs Benedict but I cannot confirm... Was too late for them... But coffee, banana breads and cones were spectacular. A nice view too. Do it...

We stopped at the Coffee Shack on our drive from Kona to the Volcanoes, and we are so happy we did! What a spectacular location they have overlooking the coast, it's absolutely beautiful. Sit and enjoy the view if you can. We didn't have a full breakfast, just tea and coffee and a cinnamon bun (definitely big enough to share!!)... More

The small restaurant is perched alongside a highway, showing plenty of wear. However, get past the need for some maintenance and enjoy a great breakfast with a commanding view of the hillside with the ocean in the distance. The breakfast items my wife and i had were very good and priced right. Spotty service. There were always one or more... More

The place doesn't look like much on the outside and there is limited parking, but the view is fantastic and the food wonderful. The macadamia nut pie is to die for ... similar to a pecan pie but made with those delicious macademia nuts and I mean lots of nuts (more than you would get in a typical pecan pie).... More
