Quaint

Stopped for breakfast and had a spectacular view. Very quiet and laid back. Small seating area but no wait on a Saturday morning. Loved the Geckos climbing around on rails!

Ok, you’re heading to the Volcanoes National Park or Green Sands Beach or all points south of Kona on the Big Island (including Captain Cook and Two Steps) – you should absolutely stop here for breakfast. It doesn’t look like much from the road, but the outdoor porch with views through the lush canopy to the ocean is amazing. Breathtaking.... More

Casual. On the side of the mountain above Place of Refuge. Very popular for breakfast and lunch, local, homemade extensive menu. French toast, yummy! Eggs Benedict Ono, delightful! Local eggs- yokes almost orange: so very GOOD! Service warm, friendly. Recommend walking through and sitting in the back dining area.

Coffee was very good and the view just spectacular! Absolute a place to see while in Hawaii. My wife and I had a cup of coffee, but the food looked very good. And affordable.

We just stumbled onto this place after visiting a coffee plantation. We only expected a stop; didn't know what marvelous views (like being perched at the top of a botanic garden and intriguing history (this is near the site of where Captain Cook died; a lei is placed around his portrait in the café this place has. We've going back... More

We have been coming to this place for many years on our annual visit. The setting is breathtaking, and the food always a treat. They are particularly well known for their pastries and desserts. The bread slices on the sandwiches are very thick and the dishes are ample. Service seems to be hit or miss, can't say it is the... More

This place hits the spot after snorkeling at the captain cook monument. Our tour guide recommended this and I'm glad he did. We may not have stopped for lunch because of the name, but they have excellent seating, an amazing view and incredible sandwiches. Make sure you include a stop here during your travels.

We drove here from Kona for what we had hoped would be a great breakfast. Although it wasn't the worst we have had on the island, it wasn't anything incredible. The menu is very simple. With a couple of substitutions my sister got what she wanted. The coffee was drip. We had to ask for milk. For a place in... More

I'm a solo, thirty something traveller who went here for lunch based on the recommendation of some people I was staying with. After being seated I then watched two tables of people come in, receive water glasses and get their order taken; all the while I'm sat there trying not to take it personally. There was only one other table... More
