We thought we'd give it a shot, despite the handful of bad reviews. After all, in a coffee growing region, most places can pull a shot of espresso . . . Right? Half a mug of crema-less, paint-tasting pigswill is what you'll get. This experience has put me off even trying anywhere else in Kona, until we get home to... More

The food is OK, the service is ridiculously terrible, but the view is amazing - and they know it. I've been there many times with my guests, every time shocked by the petite Asian waitress who treats people like trash. Anyway, it is kind of worth going for the views from the cliff and lilikoi cheese cake. But I would... More

This place had the best view! They even have a separate room that a group can have breakfast or lunch. The coffee is excellent. All of the bread is homemade. Everything is fresh.

Perched 1500 ft. above the ocean you look down on about 10 miles of beach from Kealakekua Bay to south of the Place of Refuge. The sense of space--GORGEOUS! The sandwiches were okay...

We stopped in for lunch after a morning of snorkeling at Keleakula Bay. The veggie sandwich was delicious! Pizza was good. The pies were amazing. We tasted the Coconut cream and the Lilikoi (passionfruit)cheesecake. We wanted to go back just to try the rest, but couldn't quite fit it in. My son had an iced mocha latte with honey...it was... This was our first visit and we look forward to our next. It felt like a visit to old Hawaii and we loved the beauty of the area. Such a unique setting, food and service what we had hoped for! Loved the fresh air of the open windows, cooler than Kona. We had brunch, eggs benedict, french toast, papaya special.... More

Today my wife and I had a late and very pleasant lunch at The Coffee Shack. Their dining area is a covered outdoor deck with a beautiful view of the ocean. We both had their Cobb salad, which was delicious. Then we had their excellent Kona Lime Pie. The service was calm but fast. It was a fine dining experience.... More

Sitting next to a 100 year old Avocado tree this cafe' overlooks the shores of the Pacific Ocean (1,000 feet below) where Captain Cook landed many years ago. Spectacular view! The food measures up to the view too. All the breads and desserts are homemade and delicious. And of course there is the Kona Coffee. Parking can be tricky. Be... More
