We had an excellent breakfast this trip with plenty of home-grown brewed Arabica Kona coffee. The early morning view from the deck was spectacular with a rainbow over the Pacific Ocean. The geckos on the railing seem to be getting fatter with their constant diet of jelly.

My 2nd time back to the Coffee Shack was even better than the first. They have added a second dining area to the back plus the under growth has been cut back to provide a spectacular open air view of the Kealakekua Bay below. Upon arriving the parking can be difficult (if full go a couple more hundred yards down... More

We ate here at the recommendation of the concierge at our resort, once for lunch and once for breakfast. Plenty of food prepared with an island flair. The breads were especially remarkable.

If you are in Kona and get tired of eating tourist food and want something that tastes more homemade, the Coffee Shack is the place to go. It takes a bit to get to down Highway 11, but it's worth it. I would also highly recommend the coconut cream pie.

Stopped here on our way to Capt Cook for some sandwiches to go. We also had a delicious brownie. Beautiful views right from the parking area. The service was warm and friendly and the sandwiches were great.

Perfect soup. Perfect shakes. And guess what...sandwiches and cakes perfect too. Cute gekkoes living on the ballustrade. Cinematic sweeping view down mountain to ocean. The shack clings to the mountain and the trip to the loos gives the best view of all. Oh....and the coffee...as good as it gets anywhere. Perfect of course. A whole holiday in one coffee break... I got a cup of soup with a piece of bread, $4.95, just right amout of food. Hubby liked his sandwich, beautiful view. Watch for it as you are coming down the highway, you might have to do a turn around!

We stop at Coffee Shack 1st thing each visit and then couple times a week. The location has a panoramic view high over Capt. Cook and area of refuge. Food is awesome. Kona coffee home grown. Little geckos watch us while sipping their sugar water. It's very old world charm while enjoying top of the world views. It's looking over... More

Came in around lunchtime as we were in the area. It is quite small on the inside, but the deck is beautiful and the views all around are amazing. Our food was very good; attentive service and we did purchase coffee by the pound here also. Heard about this place online and was not disappointed.
