Stopped by for breakfast on a recent visit to the area. Very nice breakfast, reasonably priced and everyone was very friendly and helpful about the area.

We knew when we saw the 'Trip Advisor' sign that we would not be disappointed, and we were right. The food is very straight-forward Hawaiian/US fare, nothing complicated but delicious and the service was exemplary. We were a mixed group (Aussies, British, Yanks) and yet they were able to satisfy everyone's particular needs perfectly. I'm crazy about haupia, a very... More

We had a wonderful lunch at Mahina Cafe. I had the fresh fish with rice and salad. It was so good. Everyday the cafe purchases fresh fish from local fisherman. I have never tasted such great fish. It was filling but light on the belly. The service was excellent. We will defiantly be back.

The two sisters who run the place are fantastic. The food was great and you should obviously have some of the baked goods since they are a bakery as well. We had the Hawaiian plate and Teriyaki plate, plus some carrot cake. Make sure to check the hours before you go, or you will be sad when they are closed.

Lea was fantastic. My friends and I (group of 6) were craving some local fare for breakfast. She brought us complimentary doughnuts (malasadas) and they were delicious. Highly recommend them! The loco moco was great!!

A small but wonderful restaurant with amazing local breakfast options. This place uses meat, fish and produce that is all locally grown on the Big Island. Our favorite is the banana pancakes, but everything we have tried has been great. Run by a nice family with high standards of service.

We stumbled on this little gem while rambling around the Capt. Cook area, and were so glad we did! Enjoyed a late lunch of kalua pork & cabbage and beef teriyaki. Delicious! Owner was the baker and waitress on our visit, and was generous & warm with Aloha spirit. Mostly locals were in & out to eat while we were... More

We stopped at this restaurant for a quick lunch and were pleased with the food. The fresh dount (malasaday) was a nice complimentary appetizer before a tasty AHI fish and chips. The service was very good and you can feel the family type atmosphere of the restaurant. Overall a nice meal at a gem on the highway. Stop by and... More

This little restaurant is only open till 3 pm which seems to be the norm for this area. The place is clean, the staff is courteous and willing to try to accommodate. Menu is typical of a little, casual cafe. There are no gluten free buns or bread so I had a taro burger without the bun, which was tasty.... More
