Very sorry to say they have closed their doors.

After all the delightful meals I have shared with friends at Mahina's, I am so sorry to say, they have closed their doors. They will be missed. Home cooked, healthy, locally grown produce and grass raised meat. Aloha!

This restaurant is closed. There is a patz pies next door which serves breakfast. There is also a cafe about a mile up the street but it is pretty busy.

We have been coming to the Big Island for 10 years. We discovered behind about 4 years ago. We eat there two or three times during our visit. Never have we had a bad meal but the welcome is always friendly!

Three things we tasted, Three things we loved! If looking for homemade food, this is the place. Macarroni and cheese with bacon was SO GOOD. Banana Bread and Carrot Bread delicious!! What I loved the most is the welcoming! A glass of water for the thirsty day and a sugar bread while you decide what to eat ♥ lovely!! Finally... More

The only reason I'm not giving Mahina Café a perfect score is because of the wait HOWEVER the food was totally worth it! There were only two ladies working and the place was full. We ordered the fresh fish and it was perfect. The young lady cooking was spot on. And getting a malasada while you wait is such a... More

Attracted by the colorful patio umbrellas we stopped here for lunch on our way to Kona. We both ordered the turkey pesto panini sandwich and found them to be excellent. The real treat came with the warm maladas that were just cooked and served warm. The best we've tasted on the big island! This gem was a real find.

We stopped here along the way to Green Sand beach. We were served immediately, the waitress was pleasant and helpful. We bothe loved our dishes- Chicken katsu and cheeseburger. Both were served quickly and were hot. Note: they do not have a liquor license. On the day we visited had only one type of cheesecake.

Based on reviews we decided to give it a try. First we waited a long time before anyone stopped by our table . Next our selections - spinach salad and fish and chips were a big disappointment. The fish was not tasty and the salad was quite warm. There was a sign that masaladas were sold out. We won't be... More

We were looking for Malasadas and found Mahina Cafe. It was perfect for us since we are still on California time (on the road at 6:40am) and we just drove up the mountain and found Mahina was open and they had Malasadas! But when we sat down and saw the traffic heading back into town we decided to eat breakfast... More

best cheesecake i've had in my entire life. Lilikoi is to die for. I miss it so much and crave it daily. the service here is amazing especially from Neeka. She really goes out of the way to make you feel so welcomed. I can't wait to come back here. Ordered cheesecake by the whole :)
