Pulled pork and chicken was as good as what you'd find back in the States. That says a lot. Big Jakes does it right. A no frills place off the highway.

Pretty good Bbq. I am a Bbq person and I thought it was pretty good. I got the pulled chicken bowl and my daughter got the chicken plate... $20 bucks! I think it is pretty expensive for a road stop but hey they have to make a living off us tourist.

Based on reviews Big Jakes was a destination stop for us. We rolled in at about 5PM and the place had just closed because it "was a busy day and they were all sold out" (what! oh no!!). We begged and was successful at getting a rack of ribs and some sides (all else was sold out for the day).... More

What a treat! This was some of the best pulled pork I've ever had. Bought 2 pounds, lasted for couple of days. St. Louis slow-rubbed pork ribs were out of this world. As good and meaty as any I have ever had. It's little roadside stand with smokers out front ... you go up to go to the window ...... More

Big Jake knows how it is done. The pulled pork was delicious and succulent, along with the accompanying boston baked beans and slaw. He also treated us to his passionfruit pudding for afters. Don't be put off by the road side location, it just makes it easier to find and means there is no reason why you shouldn't stop. Value... More

I stopped at Big Jakes for a late lunch. It's kinda hard to find so look for Da Poke Shack and it's right beside it. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was huge! It came with beans and cole slaw. The sauce was excellent too! A must stop if you're wanting BBQ!

This place doesn't look like munch - it's right off the highway, if your not paying attention you can miss it pretty easily...it is first come first serve. It looks intimidating and rundown, but don't be afraid to stop; the people who run it are always very nice. You stand outside at a window to place your order and then... More

We always see a line at the order window when we drive by, so we decided that it was a must stop. Boy oh boy, were we happy we did! The famous BBQ Pulled pork sandwich with their own sauce is the best I've had. Ribs were also perfection. Its a one man show, so expect a little wait. It's... More

I'm from the southern United States where BBQ is serious. Went to the NYC BBQ fest last year. Jake's should be featured. EXCELLENT pulled chicken on fresh bun. Drippy, messy, soaked the bread kind of bbq sauce. I loved it. Iced tea was good but in a small cup--don't skimp on it, Jake's! With BBQ this yummy, we need adequate... More
