Great food

Ok so my special was spectacular, and my husband had a good meal, but the service provided wasn't. We were settled fairly quickly, however our service was not as good as others. We didn't get the prices for the specials and we didn't get ground pepper for our salads while others in the restaurant... read more

While chain restaurants are OK, sometimes we like to do something better, nicer. Large chains often have a "manufactured" atmosphere. Family owned businesses are authentic, real. That can be either pleasant, or not. Aspen takes a small, personal location and makes it into something special. Make no mistake about it - the only difference between very nice and very disappointing... More

We were passing thru again this year and decided to try it agiain. It was even better than last year! My salmon was delicious and my husband's beef medallions were very good. The french fries were only ok. The cheesecake was stupendous and was homemade! Good service!

I was in Rawlins for a few days to help my daughter move and ate at the Aspen House two of the four nights that I was in town. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the Chick Fet. Alfredo and the Demi Glaze Beef Medallions, both of which were exquisite. The service on the other hand left a little... More

When first pulling into Rawlins I didn't expect much, but I had to meet some coworkers here! Ended up being the best food I've ever had, mainly cause they have something for everybody! From steaks to seafood, to the crab Rangoon, as you can tell I've eaten just about everything here! I've never had a bad meal here, no matter... More

I agree with most reviews regarding the atmosphere, staff, service, etc., but I think the kitchen tries to do too much. Their sign reads "Steaks, Seafood, Poultry, Pasta and Singapore cuisine". In addition, they offer a Balinese(!) dish. Something has to give. In my case it was a tasteless Caesar dinner salad. The folks at the adjoining table used the... More

We went in at the urging of our B&B hostess, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is in a Victorian house which doesn't quite translate well to a restaurant layout. When you walk in, you are right in the middle of the dining room; there is no foyer. The tables are quite close together. We were seated in a... More

We were driving through town so decided to try this highly rated restaurant. Downtown Rawlins appears to be struggling, so that's one good reason to give this restaurant a try. The server inexplicably had us wait several minutes before she could seat us (many empty clean tables). It's like being in Grandma's house, lots of artificial flowers and ornate furniture.... More

This quaint little house had the best food. The prices are very reasonable and the food is fantastic. You will not be disappointed.

We now live in Rawlins, but we do not eat out very often. We did enjoy a couple's night out last Friday, however, at the Aspen House and then a movie. I have previously had the rack of lamb which I thouroughly enjoyed. This time I decided to try the rib-eye as I had heard one could easily take half... More
