Rustic Surroundings

I eat here every time I come to Dubois. This restaurant is very rustic. They serve good food and have homemade pies. You can sit outside or inside. Don't judge it by its appearance. It is very FRIENDLY and had a touch of the western feel. Try it. I be back soon.

The food here is marginally above average but the pies are spectacular and there are a ton to choose from hence the 4 stars. They always have red and green Chile they where both pretty good. I would avoid the pork tamales though.

Went there for our anniversary dinner and very disappointed in the food. Meat was tough. Slow in getting service and meals. Their shrimp was very good. Breakfast was good but again slow and if you don't get their pies early you are out of luck

This is a small restaurant in a small crossroads town with indoor and outdoor seating. Had a fair selection of beer, but at least some micro-brews were available. The buffalo burgers were good and the sweet potato fries were as good as you will find. They are known for their pies.....we enjoyed pecan and blueberry pie.....very tasty and substantial serving.... Very laid back with excellent menu items. The staff is friendly and the decor is rustic without being kitschy. Try the pies! Again, try the pies!

We came here with two small children. For the total price we paid, we would have thought we had eaten at a five star restaurant. Beer prices were not on menu, so it was a surprise how much we paid for each beer when the bill came. They were out of many of the ones on their menu. Sandwiches were... More

Great homemade soup. Friendly staff. Outside seating where you just might see a cowgirl riding her horse down the. main street talking on her cell phone!

My friend and I stopped in Dubois as we traveled to Yellowstone and since it was a Sunday evening, there were very few dining options in town. We opted to head for the Cowboy cafe and since I had eaten at their other location in Sheridan Wyoming, I knew that their food was good. Their location in Dubois did not... More

Four of us had lunch at the Cowboy. Very good food, better service. Busy location, with some family style shared seating. Seemed to be a favorite of locals. Very reasonably priced.

This restaurant is fabulous! We sat on tables outside watching people pass by. The food was superb and the waitress was very friendly, patient and helpful. My husband had trout and loved it. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with pecans, cranberries and brie on sourdough. It was superb!
