We were looking for a decent place to eat after visiting Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo and were pleasantly surprised to find Poor Richard's. Not many restaurants can prepare steak AND lamb really well, but this elegant and reasonably priced restaurant does that and so much more. Had to go back and try their brisket, slaw and bbq brown lentils. So... More

This is a favorite spot for Friday night drinks and dinner. It did not disappoint!! My husband had the blackened ribeye salad and I had the chicken Dijon... Both were delicious and I would recommend. Our waiter was great he never missed a beat. kept the drinks coming and the food flowing it was a delightful evening!

I'm spending the week in Cheyenne and Casper on business, and my colleagues' and my last two dinners have been at Poor Richard's. That should tell you something right off the bat: I won't go back to a place that's less than excellent. Life is too short. This is definitely a steakhouse, although Tuesday night one of my colleagues had... More

Steaks were good quality and service was excellent. Total cost incl tip approx $140 for 2 8 oz filets , 1ribeye ,3 salads and 3 glasses of wine -- not a big city mortons, Capitol grill ,... But very nice local steakhouse. Friendly and attentive service throughout.

The price was low enough, the salad bar was so-so, the wine list was pretty unimpressive, her steak salad was good, my NY strip was badly trimmed and difficult to hack thru with a dull steak knife. The men's room is bizarre, and the place seems like it caters to senior citizens. While some really good dining experiences can last... More

I ordered the prime rib and it was very tender and very tasty. (I'm picky too) Nice atmosphere. It's a little out dated but it's clean and good food. Would go again for sure.

My husband and I travel to Cheyenne twice a month on business. We went to Poor Richards for the first time in early June. We had a wonderful experience - so much better that we were expecting. We ate in the bar/lounge area instead of the main dining room because it was cozy, dark and private. If you like bright... More

We decided to try this restaurant on our way through Cheyenne in early June. I had read some so-so reviews here on Trip Advisor but thought we'd give it a try anyway. I'm not sure why there are any negative reviews about Poor Richard's. We arrived to the restaurant at 5:00 and were promptly seated and our drinks orders taken.... More

Building looked a little run down from the outside but inside had a nice adult atmosphere. I had the seafood sauté. Could have used just a hint of garlic but was otherwise tasty. My husband had the walnut crusted salmon. It was good but the rice pilaf was only fair. It was a little pricey but it was worth it... More

Visit was wholly unsatisfying. On a business trip to Cheyenne and decided to try this restaurant, partly due reviews here. Ordered the bison ribeye - have lots of experience with bison and have it in my freezer. This was the poorest quality bison I have ever eaten - very fatty and not cooked to my standards. And is one one... More
