We enjoyed the nicest dinner of our two week motorcycle trip at the Virginian. Good food, attentive and professional service as well as a window table made for a memorable evening

You don't have to ask twice where to go for fine dining. This is top of the line restaurant for dining. It's a special and every bit worth your time to stop.

In 2012 I rated this restaurant with five stars and felt it was one of my favorite dining experiences - ever! This time it was far, far from that! So disappointing! The decor remains totally amazing - in itself worth a visit! I had the ribeye steak which was a standard ribeye. The grilled Caesar salad was mush, a far... More

My sister and I had been on the road for several days and were a little tired of the usual food found around the interstate hotels. We journeyed into Buffalo and went into the Occidental Hotel, intending to eat at the saloon. However, the restaurant looked very inviting, so we decided to splurge. There was a large party, with kids,... More

I am so glad that we were staying in Buffalo on a night this restaurant was open. My steak was so tender I didn't need a knife to cut it. My husband had the elk and can't stop raving about how great it tasted. We had excellent food and service.

I came here for a birthday dinner. It was my first - and last - visit to this restaurant. I expected a historic setting and great food. I discovered a setting that was more musty than regal and food that was nowhere near great. The service was polite, but slow. The menu is limited. The only entree choices were four... More

Though the menu is limited in respect of choice compared to other fine dining establishments the food is served with thought and attention to detail. I tried scallops for appetiser - they were massive! I tried Elk, which was very tasty. No room for dessert. Ambiance was nice if a little quiet when we were there. You can get a... More

The evening started out well, got one of the tables in an alcove overlooking the street. Really enjoyed the Chinese dumpling appetizers. My wife liked her salad and I enjoyed the chicken, mushroom, rice soup. Excellent, hot fresh bread. Then the meal kind of broke down. Took forever for the entrees to be served. What was strange is that there... More

We dined here one Saturday night after having visited the bar and hotel several times during the past several years. We knew it would be more expensive than average but you are paying to experience the western history and historic atmosphere that comes with a building visited by Butch Cassidy, President Roosevelt and other notable characters from the old west...
