The Virginian is very inconsistent in its food. You never know if you are going to have a good meal or a downright bad one. I hate to send things back but have had to on several occasions due to raw or undercooked, overly salted or even terribly overcooked food. The atmosphere is lovely, though. It is one of our... More

The food was very good, prices were reasonable, and it provided the authentic Wyoming restaurant experience and menu I was looking for. The service was slow, but I'm sure that can vary and happen anywhere, and the staff was very nice. If you're passing through, or visiting, and are looking for a menu fitting of a quintessential Wyoming restaurant, I'd... More

Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. Fine dined in the vault, of all places! Could have also sat in a window alcove, very authentic... Great food!

Stopped in on a snowy Tuesday evening. Have not been here in a long time, but the food and atmosphere were as great as I remembered. Asked for something that was not on the menu, and they were happy to improvise. The service was outstanding.

My husband and I had gone next door to the occidental their menu was limited and bar staff was rude so we had dinner at the Virginian. I had the elk and my husband had the cowboy ribeye. Small portions for the price veggies were under cooked and under seasoned. The elk was super tender and delicious but the steak... More

Private and quiet. The Virginian has an elegant menu. We enjoyed the filet mignon, salads, scallops, and wine.

Allright, were should I begin ? We were wondering were to go to have dinner in Buffalo and ended walking in the main street, when I heard music (live music that is) coming from the "Occidental Saloon". Dropping an eye inside, I discovered both a bar and a restaurant in a, say, historic way of decoration. It was kind of... More

Had dinner with our kids as we were passing through. Dining room did not open until 6 pm on a Friday that did seem a bit odd but we waited. Food was delicious and steaks cooked perfect. My kids had the pear And Gorgonzola ravioli. That was a taste sensation. Atmosphere is 1880 and a great piece if the old... More
