5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014 NEW

My wife and I just returned from an early visit to Wisconsin's north woods and stopped at Ella's (one of our favorite restaurants) on Hwy 51 in Woodruff. They featured a new Sunday brunch for an incredibly low price ($12.99) which included breakfast favorites, lunch items, homemade soup and delicious desserts. They also had mimosas for $2.00! If you haven't... More

Terrible service, over cooked omelette (how can you screw up scrambled eggs?). Can't really blame the waitress, at NOON they had 1 waitress, who also was the bus person, hostess, and cashier. From her disorganization, you could tell she was new and doing her best. That kind of staffing is the owner's fault. NO ONE could seat, serve, and wait... More

Great food for the price. Could eat there everyday during your stay in the Northwoods. The owner waits on tables too I believe and she was great. Not fake, but genuine caring about the food and needs of customers.

Waiting a bit on a Sunday morning for breakfast but not outrageously long. The restaurant was a bit understaffed but the service was still good. Good breakfast with nice portions and decent prices.

Food wasn't that great other than the fact that the sandwiches were on good homemade bread. A little expensive for what you get. Coffee and ice teas were 1.75 each and they never asked us if we wanted a refill.

We stopped there few days ago and it was great! Places like that make Minocqua an amazing vacation spot ;D

Everytime we visit Minoqua, we always make sure we go to Ella's restaurant. It's very charming and warm feeling. The appetiser, Raspberry and Goat cheese crostini was amazing! OMG!! For the main course I chose Penne Gratinata and my husband chose Teriyaki and Honey glazed salmon. The aromas and flavors of these two dishes were amazing. Chef Steve came out... More

We had a wonderful experience in the North woods at Ella's Restaurant, Hwy 51 N, Minocqua, Wi. This beautiful little restaurant had the best squash soup with blue cheese crumbles we've ever tasted. Our entree was also outstanding (Penna Gratinata s.p.) and the prices were amazingly affordable! The restaurant was clean and beautiful with great service. If you're lucky enough... More

I was vacationing in Minocqua, WI in December and between snowmobiling and shopping in some quaint shops, I stopped into Ella's Restaurant. The atmosphere was welcoming and the smells were mouth-watering. I have never written a review before but this restaurant is too good not to share! I had a great meal and I highly recommend the butternut squash soup.... More

Limited menu but reliable place for a sandwich or salad. The presence of the owner/chef and attention to details recommend this family style restaurant for a casual meal.
