We have been going to Bluehill for many years.. We have been coming to Birchwood since the 60s and I don't know how long Bluehills has been there but I always remember going there with a couple or many in the family.. LOVE LOVED the food.. But now they have new owners and we didn't get the same standard of... More

We have gone here many times over the years. Best consistent quality food in our area. Nice casual atmosphere. Very friendly owners and servers. My whole family loves eating at the Blue Hills Inn. For something different try the blue hills catch- a sweet, fresh walleye filet, covered in hash browns and browned to perfection- the fish gets perfectly steamed... More

Went hear for our 39th Anniversary and had a nice time. Homemade soups and good bread. Entrees need a bit of improving just average taste and prresentation. Wonderful service. But had to climb umpteen stairs to get to the dining room. But the view is worth it, hummingbirds galore during season.

Stopped here in mid-September for dinner and were impressed. Food quality and portions were excellent, and considering it is off the beaten path, the menu was more big city than small town. Daily specials showed an inventive flair, and staff in dining room and bar area worked hard to make it a special night. Home-made soup was served in table-top... More

Although the atmosphere is outdated it's not a dealbreaker in my own dining experiences. A vacuum was left out in the bar with the cord to trip over for some time but again minor things. The setting is very nice especially to enjoy the quietly located rural outdoor property with gazebo, bridge and fish boil viewing area. You can watch... More

OMG, small children running around after 9 and the owners were ok with this, the food was fair, liked the carrot soup but will never go back again, when we go out for a late meal we do not want to have children running around, that is why we were out late, drinks ok but I would pass

We've been to Blue Hills practically every year for the last 20 yrs. In all that time it hasn't changed much and that's a good thing. And while it probably needs a major physical renovation (I think the roof leaks) there isn't a better steak anywhere around. This time I did get a hummingbird to take nectar from my hand!... More

We ate here for our anniversary July 1. It's out in the country, not on any main roads, but it was worth the trip. We had the Sunday brunch buffet and there was a good variety of food, including made to order items (French toast, pancakes, and Eggs Benedict). There was also a delicious dessert table. The service was good... More
