Enjoyable, but not Exceptional

Four of us stopped in for a casual lunch and after a somewhat annoying wait because of a host staff mix-up, we enjoyed a very nice meal. While the food was good, mostly authentic French the highlight was our service. I've only been there once, but our server was very good. It's amazing how much... read more

Both times I visited, a stairway between levels was blocked with carts full of dirty dishes. The food was OK. One entree contained cheap canned olives.

I have been at this restaurant several times, most recently between Christmas and New Year. My wife and I went there for lunch. Although there was a wait for a table, the host and the rest of the staff kept things moving. We ended up getting a very nice table. I had the duck crepe which I enjoyed greatly. My... More

My fiance and I went here for my 40th birthday. I really wanted to go to an authentic French restaurant for my b'day and 2 co-workers recommended this place to me, in which the both either obviously enjoyed it or they both secretly hate me! First off the service wasn't that great, I don't know if the waiter was new... More

We stopped by for dessert. Lots of goodies. Great service. I wish they serve sweet crepes. Hubby thinks that the menu is not very easy to understand.

I've been a customer of Le Reve's for many years. Up until now, it has been the 'must' stop whenever I am in the Milwaukee area. The quality of the desserts, pastries and salads remains exceptionally good. However, I've noticed a decline in quality in their Moules et Frites (mussels and fries), which was our favorite savory dish there, and... More

Ordered the Pernod moules frites. As good as ever. Joe makes the best manhattan and gin martini. Our friend ordered the duck which he said was fantastic. The only improvement that could be made here is the noise. The upstairs could use some abatement as it is extremely difficult to converse and the servers also have a difficult time hearing.... More

My wife and I have been fans of Le Reve since it opened. Quality is always consistent, even over many years, and care is take for every dish. Some meals can come a bit salty at times, but I have enjoyed everything I've had. This is a place where you can throw a dart at the menu and never go... More

I love this little restaurant, but then I like butter and rich food occasionally . Went there for breakfast with a friend. Music was a bit olud for conversation , but they turned it down at our request. The meals were very good and very rich. LOTS of butter.

We came here for lunch and it was great. Classic French bistro with the menu to match. We had the French onion soup, which I felt was a bit sweet, was still very good. My wife had the beer & cheese soup, which was also good. My wife had the prosciutto salad and I had the croque Madam. Both very... More
