We have tried this restaurant several times and were disappointed each and every time. A friend of mine told me about this place and he loves it because, in his words, "it's like home cooking". Yikes! All the hot served vegetables are out of a can. The salads are wilted. All the food is over cooked. Even their burgers are... More

The Waupaca Woods Restaurant is a very popular family restaurant. There is a variety of food choices- You can have breakfast but we usually choose the daily specials. This restaurant is in the middle of potato country so your meat and potato dishes will have plenty of potatoes. The food is good Portions are large though. There also is a... More

Good food but nothing spectacular. Some items can be uneven. Had a fantastic reuben one time, then another time it had huge chunks of corned beef instead of thin sliced and tasted like it came out of a St Patty's corned beef and cabbage. Steaks are not good. Fish and burgers are good, most sandwiches and soups are good

Everyone comments on the size of the portions, so I won't bother. I was impressed with some important details that used to be mainstays of the American diner but bizarrely are absent. One is that they have "homemade, slow-roasted corned beef." This mixed in their eggs is a noticeable improvement over the sliced deli meat you often find or worse... More

Our first meal here was their broasted chicken dinner on Sunday afternoon. The portions were HUGE. We had plenty left over for lunch the next day. The food was excellent. It felt like having Sunday dinner at grandma's house! The atmosphere is comfortable. The staff is pleasant, hard working and highly skilled. We were so impressed we went back the... More

food was excellent, large portions, low prices, service was HORRIBLE. Waitress never asked how our food was, never filled a drink, I had to go get my own to go box.

Best home cooking food ever! Huge portions. I have never had a bad meal here. Yes it's old school and if your looking for ambiance then I guess it's not the place even though I think it's cozy. The waitresses are old school and don't pamper you so get over it! When my Dad was alive and HE LOVED FOOD... More

We have a lake home in Waupaca but reside in the Milwaukee area. We go for Friday night fish fry's (famous in Wisconsin) as often as possible. We are constantly looking for "the best fish fry" in Wisconsin. Every time we are in Waupaca on a Friday, we WILL NOT miss going to Waupaca Woods Restaurant for their fish fry.... More

This restaurant, through its advertising, claims to be the best restaurant in Waupaca. It is! The food is great, always check out the daily specials. Prices are reasonable. Service is slow so don't be in a hurry if you dine here.
