We were celebrating my husband's birthday, along with our son, daughter-in-law, the world's cutest 2 year old and his brand new 13 day old sister. Because it was the day before New Year's Eve, there was hardly anyone in the place. We chose to eat in the bar (it had a separate, more casual menu) and got a big, quiet... More

New Year's Eve dinner was very good but not as festive as in previous years. We've dined here on New Year's Eve for a number of years, and it seems to be becoming less formal each year. This year, it was regular menu and no glass of champagne. And, unfortunately, because it did not fall on a Friday, no accordion... More

We frequent this restaurant often, whether it is at the bar for the wonderful fish fry, or my favorite the fish sandwich on mable rye, with cheese and a potato pancake ON the sandwich, it is a relaxing and tasty experience. Last night we dined in the upstairs dining room which may get a little warm for any menopausal women,... More

The Gasthaus during the Christmas season is not to be missed. The main dining room is lovely this time of the year. I would reccommend taking family visiting from out of town on a Friday for the family style fish fry. Arrive at 4:30pm. At this time there will be no wait. If that seems early to you, have drinks... Had the Thanksgiving Turkey dinner......... Read many great reviews, the ambiance, service was EXCELLENT. The breads, soups, Pretzel's, mashed potatoes, vegetables were all delicious. The turkey however was horrible, dry almost jerky dry - nasty. Our wonderful waitress brought us another selection of turkey was a tad better..... just disappointing given how great everything else was. We won't judge a... More

Everything from the bar to the dinner to the bar afterwards to watch the game in triple overtime was spectacular! A great experience, very friendly atmosphere.

I was staying at a nearby hotel and had every intention of going into the city... until I saw this place lit up. My review is going to be extremely biased because I love German food. First, the bier selection was very good. My favorite (Hofbrau Dunkel) was on draft (we sat at the bar). I ordered the goulash and... More

I've been to the gasthaus a couple times. I guess like my score says, the service was good, the food was average, the cost was about average. I guess from a scale of 1 to 10, ten being best I'd give it a 5.

Something amiss here, but not sure what it is. Great beer selections, good cocktails, food was just so so. Would rob ably look elsewhere next trip for better German food.
