I have eaten in many fine German restaurants in Europe and America. The atmosphere and service at the Gasthaus are wonderful. My usual fare is Wiener schnitzel. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with it here. The veal was tender and pleasantly seasoned, but it lacked the traditional breading. What there was of it was soggy, not crisp as is usually found... We used to live just a few blocks from the Gasthaus. We ate there often. We have since moved away but try to eat there every time we are back in town. Along with the German food they have a great Friday fish fry.

As with the other Weisgerber's restaurants, this one serves some good German food. And their Friday Fish Fry is very good. On Wednesdays during the summer they have a car show in the parking lot and offer food and music in the back of the building. We have been to the car show but have not yet had anything to... More

The staff makes you feel like family. The bar menu is fantastic for a quick bite before a show. The german preztel is a meal in itself.

The locals ranted and raved about how great this place was. Maybe I'm spoiled because of the great German restaurant we have back where I live, but I was totally unimpressed by Gasthaus. The pork shank I had wasn't very good, and I didn't hear anyone else at the table ranting and raving about their meals. i wouldn't go back.

Brought a group of 35 here and were treated wonderfully. The waitresses were very responsive and the food was great. Great German cooking. Lots of fabulous comments.

Went to the Gasthaus on Friday for their fish fry experience. Waited at the bar for 30 minutes before we were seated. Had a pint of beer. The beer was unremarkable, but was served in a remarkable mug. We waited another 15-20 minutes at the table before the order was taken by an either very busy or very unhappy waiter.... More

Wow!! What a disappointment. Totally rushed. It starts with a couple mini bagels, cream cheese and 3 small pieces if lox for 4 people but a nice bread basket. They served a 4x4 square of quiche that was not edible. It was like an under cooked custard with no crust. First time in years Ive had to spit something out. Plenty... More

I'd have to say, hands down, that they have the best to-go fish fry in the area! Very well organized from the point the order is taken in-person to waiting in the hallway for your meal to be freshly prepared. Above all, getting fish, potatoe pancake, potato salad, cole slaw and break for $12.95 is a bargain as it is... More

This is without a doubt my favorite restaurant for a fish fry. The old German beer hall feel is wonderful and the food is great!
