Excellent choice for Fish Fry

Had the fish fry here last Friday. We had a group of eight and were still seated relatively quick. They have a lot of seating. The meal is served family style so they bring out the bread, coleslaw, and potato salad right away. About 15 min. later the fish (cod... Fried or baked your choice) potato... read more

Weissgerber’s knows good German cooking. We started with drinks, German wine and an excellent Wiess beer served on tap. After placing our orders for dinner, our server brought us a bread basket which contained not only different kinds of bread but also 3 hot pretzels. This went perfectly with my beer. For dinner I ordered the Pork Shank – it... More

We just returned from an outstanding dinner at what I believe is arguably the best German restaurant in the area. There was good selection if biers (many on tap) and German wines here. Our glasses were brimming when served in large glasses. The bread basket was large and contained three 3 different types of fine bread and rolls, as well... More

I have eaten here several times and been vaguely disappointed. The food was good but kind of expensive for what you get. The staff was polite but I would not describe them as friendly. The place is kind of dark so maybe that influenced my feeling. The beer of course is excellent, especially around Octoberfest.

Several of us had lunch in the bar last summer and thought it was time to return for dinner. I had the Gasthaus Platter which one of the bartenders recomended. The portions are large and everything was tasty. My friends had the sauerbraten and jager schnitzel which they enjoyed. We all agreed that we liked it enough to return again... More

Meh, I have definitely experienced better.....and with more reasonable prices. The Wiener Schnitzel should be the best item on any German restaurants menu. For $28.00 I was served two large, flat, greasy schnitzels with little flavor. The breading was greasy and flat. True schnitzel has a light crispy breading with texture. This tasted like it was sitting in a bath... More

The Gasthaus has no surprises. You get consistent food and service every time. Lately, we have enjoyed ordering off of their bar menu - especially the pretzels and reuben egg rolls. We love the selection of beers and the atmosphere. They have a great fish fry (one of my favorites in SE Wisconsin). You really can't go wrong here.

We have been to this restaurant numerous times and have always been satisfied with the consistency of their food and service. You can't go wrong by choosing this restaurant for fine German dining.

Friday night fish frys are family style all you can eat. Delicious baked or fried cod and perch with all the trimmings (cole slaw, french fries, applesauce, rye bread, etc.) You will not leave hungary!
