Pizza is my favorite food and I love it when I find a truly great pizza place. DaLou's is just such a find. Hand-crafted, brick-fired pizza as good as I've had anywhere, including New York City and Chicago. Crust was a magical combination or crisp, yet chewy, sauce was perfect and toppings (I'm a simple pepperoni & sausage guy) were... More

After a few less-than-memorable meals in the Ashland/Bayfield areas, this restaurant was a welcome change. As confirmed by the other reviews, the wood-fired pizzas are delicious and the salads were fresh and tasty. Lots of good vegetarian options. Unlike some of the other reviewers below, we enjoyed good service. This is a great spot if you are craving something other... More

I have had wood fired pizza at many of the top rated pizzerias in Minneapolis / St. Paul, as well as Milwaukee and Chicago. Few are in the same class as DaLou's and none are better. Each pizza is hand crafted by Dale with fresh local made ingredients wherever possible. Lou creates her desserts the same way. Fair prices, fantastic... More

We tried Dalou's at the recommendation of staff at our B&B. We each had one of the wood-fired pizzas on the menu. These were two of the best pizzas we have had in a very long time. I felt flavor bursting in my mouth! For dessert we shared a homemade blueberry pie (fresh blueberries just in season in Bayfield area)... More

I've posted a good review for this place in the past. But recent experience requires an update. We had a waitress with an attitude. The food came cold. We were seated outside, which is fine, but asked to move inside when a table became available. Tables opened up and sat empty, but we weren't moved inside. Strange thing is table... More

Stopped on a whim on our way back from Bayfield - what an amazing meal! Everything was incredible. We had the fondido (smoked mozzarella with pesto) with a salty chewy pizza puff - maybe the best thing I have ever tasted. The small Caesar salad was plenty to share and had a full smooth flavor. We also had the Margherita... More

We ate here with a group in July. Fantastic food! I'm not sure I've ever had better pizza! The salad was a little short on the fruits but was very tasty. We did have room for dessert but only because we shared. Had to fight over the last strawberry one, but the creme brûlée was excellent too. Our only complaint... More

A great place to stop for some wood fired pizza. Large salad served family style, and some fantastic deserts. Pizzas are approx a 12" size. So need. Two or three if four people. A bit in the pricey side. No reservations so you can have a wait. All in all food well worth the stop.

Not sure how such a tiny town like Washburn wound up with such an amazing restaurant. But these guys know good food! The "pizza puffs" for the apps are perfection, done the old world way. All ingredients appeared and tasted to be fresh as well. Definitely worth stopping by! We started with an app that included three types of cheeses... More
