Black Forest is back!!!!!

Ate here for the fourth or fifth time since it reopened. Once again the German food was wonderful. My wife has decided to run the menu and started with the Rouladen. It was outstanding to the point that it was better than her own. I had the Friday night fish fry which was quite improve since... read more

We finally got a chance to dine at the renovated Black Forrest and had a wonderful evening. There were eight of us in our party and we sat at a wonderfully large round booth that was roomy and afforded everyone participation in the conversation. Our server memorized our orders (a mark of professionalism) making only a small mistake on an... More

There were 28 of us who gathered together for dinner on a Thursday night. Seated at 3 tables, we had 3 separate waitresses-all 3 were pleasant and extremely efficient. We ordered off the menu and were rewarded with excellent German entrees from Wiener schnitzel to beef and spaetzle ( some of the best that I have had) to warm pretzels... More

Spectacular German food!! Kids loved their burgers and chicken strips... Cheese curds are now our favorite here... another restaurant lost their title. Meals seem larger than the last time we were here which was a good decision, since we had left hungry. Also, they now serve German food on Fridays... They listen to the customers. We had forgotten and would... More

After many years as a pretty good restaurant, Black Forest is under new owners, and has gone back to their German food heritage. I understand that they will be reviewing and revising the menu as time goes on, based on diners' preferences. Wonderful changes have been made to the dining room: booths have been added, and a big stone fireplace... More

Most memorable experience of this place was the effort and courteous staff who seemed to keep the welcoming and charming appeal vibrant. Food favorite was the homemade German desert fresh out of the oven. We tried a meat dish that was good however not mind blowing. Oddly I was thrilled with the side of cabbage for taste and texture. I'm... More

The new and improved Black Forest is excellent. The new owners show case their German heritage via the food very well. Their food rivals my Austrian mother's cooking. Their goulash would of met my mother's approval and she would of demanded to know how they got her recipe. Very flavorful and well done (German) food, great service and at a... More

We went early on a Saturday evening so we stopped in the bar area for drinks before requesting seating. The bartender (female) was very nice and friendly. The drinks were delivered quickly and correctly. We engaged in conversation with the bartender several times while we were sitting there. Upon moving to the hostess stand, we were greeted immediately and seated... More

My husband had Mac ’n Chicken: "Tender grilled chicken and sautéed black forest bacon in a rich, creamy sauce, topped with freshly grated Emmentaler, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, then baked to golden". Mmmmh, sounds like a punch of flavor, right? Not so much. The vegetarian spätzle dish I ordered appears to have since been removed from the menu (!?) which... More
