Burgers Ahoy!!!!!

Don't let the first impression scare you off. It's not located on restaurant row, this place is in the industrial area. When you walk through the front door, it's dark and dingy and crowded. The walls and ceiling are covered with nautical artifacts. Dead fish in formaldehyde filled jars on the wall... read more

Excellent (and large) burgers at a cheap price. Great atmosphere, too. Boyfriend and I will eat there again and we are from the cities so we have many places to choose from but we will make a day trip out of it rather than eat at Five Guys or that hot overprices mess called Fuddruckers any day!

Stopped at the Anchor Bar for a burger and fries. ONE OF THE BEST burgers around the area! Oh, and FRESH cut fries...YES, if you sit at the bar, you can see them cut the potato! A large beer (34oz)!! Most of the burgers range from $4.00 to $4.75, and are BETTER than you chain restaurants!!! An order of fries... More

If food critic, Calvin Trillin is believed, a good restaurant is one that does one thing superbly. By that measure, the Anchor bar hits a home run. The Anchor Bar looks like a dive from the street, but inside, it's a museum of nautical materials and kitsch. Horns, steering mechanisms, harpoons, brass plaques, and model boats line the ceilings and... More

And cheap!! Great mariner theme - if you are on a date try and sit in the library. OK for kids if it is 6 pm or earlier. Heavy lunch crowd and they don't take cards.

Don't let the outside appearance stop you from going inside! Its an old fashioned, quirky place. Decorated with lots of old fishing gear and antiques. The inside décor of the building reminds me of an old wood, plank ice house. Uneven floor, mismatched tables and chairs. But a very friendly, warm place. The burgers are the best around, including the... More

For the money this is the best burger you can get. This place does it up good. Fresh burgers and homemade French fries. If you can't find a burger on the menu that suits you well then your just not hungry. If you come during lunch good luck finding a place to sit. If you have a choice come a... More

The Anchor is a total dive bar but I love it! This is the place in Duluth/Superior for burgers! The prices are dirt cheap, the burgers and fries are hot, a little greasy and delicious. The bartenders and staff have major street credibility, and the dusty artifacts tacked on every surface in the bar adds character and a laid back... More

We go there for lunch quite often, but you better get there early if you want to be seated right away. The menu has quite a selection of different types of burgers so I have a hard time saying what my favorite is but maybe the cashew bacon cheeseburger. They are not stingy with the fries either. The ambiance is... More

I was recommended by a co-worker to give it a look and when I found out it was visited by Guy Fieri, well that sealed the deal. Great burgers and fries and extremely value priced for a great meal. The atmosphere was very unique with all the beer and shipping memorabilia. Small town, local hang out. Recommend experiencing the Anchor... More
