Definitely a supper-club atmosphere. We were tourists in for lunch on a Saturday about noon -- nobody but us there but then what seemed to be locals began drifting in. So it was quiet and relaxing. Unfortunately, the Shack is one of few remaining supper clubs in this area. I have been there several times and have had some very good food there. (The salmon is very nice). The atmosphere and decor is on the nicer side with a wood interior and beautiful stained glass windows. It's still a nice place and for lunch many selections... more

We (3 couples) visit Duluth/Superior at least once a year, and finding a decent restaurant always seems to be a bit of a problem. In the past, we've had pretty good luck with the Shack bar/restaurant in Superior, but they seem to have tightened their belt of late, concerning daily specials and there are some questionable items on that menu.... more

Great atmosphere & service. Good food, especially their home smoked ribs w/home made barbeque sauce. Some of the best ribs in the area. Not for the budget minded people. more
