Driving by, it may not look like much is going on, but walk in the door and you'll find our original knotty pine walls and bar (that date back to the 1930s), friendly faces, and a menu that the locals keep coming back for. We don't do things too fancy, or too crazy, but we put a lot of effort into making sure your meal is fresh and delicious and (with the exception of, say, quinoa) pronounceable! The local perch is always a hit, but try our excellent chicken, shrimp, steaks, and other favorites! Oh, and save room for our homemade dessert-- it's always scratchmade and usually heavenly!

Cozy, old time Door County

Fabulous tempura shrimp - not too heavily breaded or greasy. Nice light batter, and delicious succulent shrimp perfect for dipping into the Thai sweet chili sauce. We also had the Thursday night BBQ rib special - very tender and tasty, served with nicely seasoned yummy baby red potatoes. Love the... read more

For several years my husband and I have been traveling to Door County from central Illinois and on our first trip we were looking for good food and homey, The Cabin was recommended so we decided to give it a try. We had a great time, the food was really good and the people working there were very friendly and... More

I don't know how this place has gotten so many great reviews! Went on a Thursday night, the noise level was so high I could not even hear what my husband was saying. My husband ordered a steak for $20 plus and we were told he could not have another roll because they were only allowed to give one roll,... More

Hello Susan, I'm so sorry you were disappointed with your visit! I hope that you will give us another try. It is true that we generally only offer 1 roll per guest each night as we lost one of our workers to a tragedy. They are now made from scratch by only me. We used to be able to be... More

Seats about thirty. One bartender and one hostess worked hard and were nice. Very very understaffed. Always that way according to others who have been there.

Hi Louie, Thanks for taking the time and your thoughtful review. You are correct, we are extremely understaffed. We have postings all over town and online, and can't seem to find more applicants. I hear it's that way all over the county this summer. We have also lost some of our dearest staff due to a tragedy, and have never... More

found this on Trip advisor so decided to give it a try and was glad we did. The place was really busy but got seated really quickly, then they got busier! Our meals came with salads which were nice portions and well done. The salad also served with pretzel bread which was to die for, it was a high light... More

We stopped in for dinner and the food was excellent, we had fresh lake whitefish and perch- the service was very attentive. The place was packed by 7 pm, so plan ahead for a great time and great food with excellent service !

Went here recently with my in-laws...the selection and food was excellent. Nice to see balanced choices and reasonable portions. And the Creme Brulee was SO good!

We found the Cabin based on reviews from Trip Advisor and I'm so glad we tried it. The staff and owners were so wonderful, our dinners were fantastic - especially the perch! But the peach pie!!!! What a treat! I look forward to going back in the fall.

When I visited this restaurant, my pork chop was served medium rare. Not a good impression. The pretzel rolls were good, but I don't like medium rare pork chops!

You are absolutely correct-- that is unacceptable and I'm very sorry. I'm not sure what night you came in but I do hope you sent back the pork chop so that whoever was on the grill knew they made a big mistake-- all of our cooks are well aware that pork needs to be cooked thoroughly. My apologies to you,... More
