Description: Name inspired by 27 hour trip to Paris. Amazingly creative American cuisine with many vegan/vegetarian choices. Grow their own vegatables and use food produced by local farmers. Desserts all homemade, best carrot cake ever! Trendy atmosphere and hip jazz bands on weekends. A gem in a small, midwest college town.

This is no longer called Cafe 27 and has changed to Father Fats with new owners. We miss Cafe 27 as it was local grown and organic foods only. their coffee was the best mountain grown coffee in town and was always fair trade coffee. Really miss this type of food as there is only one other place in town... More

Don't get me wrong - i LOVE brats and cheese. Just that every once in a while I like to have something a little more thoughtful as well as flavorful. The menu at Cafe 27 provides just that. I'm usually there for breakfast time and I tend to concentrate on their breakfast pizzas - the ones with the egg are... More

This was one of the best restaurants I've visited in a very long time! It's bright and cheery and bustling inside, with friendly folks behind the counter to help you navigate the amazing menu, posted on a colorful chalkboard behind the scrumptious bakery case items. We got the pumpkin soup and mushroom soup - both exploded with flavors at first... More

I thought this place was very nice. I had a cup of coffee and the carrot muffin. It was really, really good.

We visited for breakfast. Didn't expect to find something so trendy! Fabulous pastries (the pecan sandie with expresso cream is incredible). Breakfast pizzas are flavorful and cooked just right. Quiche had a ton of vegetables yet maintained "fluffiness" instead of being watered down. Very fun to have all the recipe books around to read while eating.

Not my husband's kind of place. But I liked a lot. We all 3, my 11-yr old granddaughter was along, ordered the Lunch Special: 1/2 sandwich, Salad Sampler & a Cup of Soup. The Corn-Potato Soup was excellent. I enjoyed the Couscous but the others didn't eat because it was not a familiar food. Husband thought $10-$12 per person was... More

The Vegan and Gluten Free options drew us to Cafe 27 for lunch one Saturday afternoon. The staff was friendly and helpful. They immediately pointed out which selections were gluten free. They also offer freshly made bakery, and croissants, too. The menu changes daily, depending on what is in season. We ordered the mushroom/pesto veggie burger (came with sides of... More

My husband, daughter, and I had brunch here today. The food was outstanding. Huge portions. The blueberry lemon curd brioche was killer. Their breakfast sandwiches can easily be shared. Great outdoor patio with fresh herbs in their garden.

I had the best meal in my life at this quaint artsy all natural restaurant. This was the second time I had the pleasure to eat here and will go back if I am ever in or near this area again. It was recommended by the UWSP Dance Department head and am I ever glad she said we should eat... More
