This is a NICE place to dine out in Spring Green. Very good steak, nice wine, beautiful view of the river. Plan accordingly for slow service, though!

For our annual Friends Weekend (3 couples) in Spring Green for the American Players Theater, we usually try to enjoy one night out at Riverview Terrace. The last 4-5 years have been excellent, but unfortunately we could tell right away that the restaurant was under new management. The menu shrunk by at least half, and our favorite walleye was not... We ate at this wonderful restaurant nearby Taliesin and American Players Theater prior to attending a show at APT. It is located at one end of the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center, which is a beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright prairie-style building on Hwy C near Taliesin. The restaurant overlooks the Wisconsin River and the view from the restaurant is quite... More

We arrived promptly for out 7:30 reservation. The first thing that we noticed was a strong musty odor upon entering the restaurant, as if we ever entering someone's basement. We stood at the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign for a full 10 minutes without anyone so much as acknowledging our presence. Even though the place was practically empty, the... More

We heard that local foodies had opened it this spring after years of so-so corporate management. They source locally and the heritage pork tenderloin was THE best pork I've had in my life and I'm an old man with tons of restaurant food consumed. The walleye was also delicious. The beef carpaccio appetizer should be shared, more than you want... More

My husband and I tried this restaurant and were delighted with both the ambiance and the food. Being in a structure of Frank Lloyd Wright inspiration was all by itself a treat. However we were pleasantly surprised to find that the food matched the spectacular view we had. I tried the lamb chops which were quite good, but my husband's... More

I joined some friends for lunch here last week and was astonished at how much things had changed for the better. Located inside Taliesin Visitor Center, it always starts off with this wonderful ambiance, not to mention the Wisconsin River flowing alongside! Under new ownership, now you can add wonderful fresh foods, beautifully prepared and presented and much of it... More

Now under new ownership, the Riverview Terrace is still worth a stop. The host, a co-owner, I believe, was dressed casually in jeans and plaid shirt, and chatted with guests. We were there for dinner: my sister, a real foodie, ordered the breast of pheasant and pronounced it delicious. My veggie-dressed pasta was good, but could have used more of... More

We had lunch here after our first Taliesin tour. We thought it would be so-so. WRONG it was wonderful. The sandwich was unique and tasted like something from a very high class restaurant. Then there was the soup OMG it was delish. Fresh and unique. Everything was so creative. Loved the sauces that were used. In fact I would love... More

We ate lunch after taking the Taliesen tour. Somewhat limited menu but all fresh and creative dishes. Has the walnut burger, white it wasn't the best vegetarian burger I've ever had, it was vert flavorful. The fries that come with the sandwich were hand cut and expertly made. Of course the view is very nice and the dining room is... More
