Stopped for take-out dinner after reading mostly positive reviews. We were anxious to get back to our campsite, as the rest of our group had arrived while we were on the road, so asked if our food could be made to go. Our very friendly waitress assured us this would be possible, but we could only order a poor boy,... More

Whenever we are near Spooner (once or twice a year), we have to have our lunch here. The sandwiches and soup are great, the atmosphere is friendly and upbeat and the people are welcoming and fun. Just sent a couple more folks there and we know they'll come back with rave reviews, too!

The food was pretty good and fairly prompt. They were short staffed, which you could hear them loudly complaining about. The one staff member who managed to be friendly and smile was constantly the target of barked orders and criticism, which was a shame because she was obviously working very hard and doing a good job, especially under the pressure... Piller's is located close to downtown and you can find parking close. The atmosphere is casual and very friendly. The po' boy sandwich is great and the home make soups are WONDERFUL! Be sure to stop if you are in Spooner, WI!

We really like the food and decor at Pillers. Specials are always great. The kids love the andy filled bear.

We eat at Pillars weekly and have always enjoyed great atmosphere, friendly service and very tasty food. Their soup is the best.

Great sandwiches on really good bread. I've had Po Boy's in the south, and my usual complaint is too much dry bread with not enough meat and toppings, but this place has amazing bread that is in perfect proportion to the rest of the sandwich. The special happened to be a prime rib sandwich with au jus, so my brother... More

We go through Spooner probably 3 dozen times a year and never noticed this place--right in the middle of town on the highway. I can't imagine why! We stopped today, tired and hungry, after the lunch hour. We each ordered a corned beef poor boy (1/2 sandwich) with a cup of soup. It was almost more than we could eat... More

The sandwiches at Pillers are delicious and the owners and staff are so nice and friendly. The chef, Drew, is very enthusiastic and really enjoys cooking and interacting with customers. The servers are engaging and helpful. their soups are fantastic, and from your first visit everyone makes you feel like a friend.

Kids meals and veggie poor boys came out in record time. Super fast! The inside has a nice up north feel. Not fancy or stuffy. Food was good too.
