Fun Place in Door County

We had to wait 45 minutes for our table for lunch. While waiting we walked to the park then shopped in the store located at the restaurant. The shop had interesting and unique items. Once in side, we had good food and good service. Everyone in my party had the Swedish meatball meal and liked... read more

Whenever you go to Door County I would strongly recommend going to Al Johnsons. From the goats on the roof to the incredible food it is hard to pass up. My family and I enjoy our visit every time we go. Don't miss it!

I have to say I was excited to go to this restaurant. Your really don't get this type of experience very often. There is a real commitment to making it a Scandinavian environment. The goats on the roof is a great idea, and the outfits of the waitstaff are fun and gets you in the mood for Swedish food. I... More

I somehow expected more...limited breakfast choices and I thought expensive for what you get. It tasted fine. Not the cleanest restaurant. Because the place is so busy, service is just average. I would not eat here again for breakfast. Just park and take pictures of the goats, and maybe check out their shop if you are Swedish.

I enjoy going here when I am in Door County but be prepared to wait for a table unless you are there VERY early. We waited 50 minutes for a table for 4. Nice atmosphere, friendly wait staff and delicious food once you get a table. Love the Swedish pancakes and meatballs. We'll be back next time!

Very ethnic selections and many of the standard fare for those less adventuresome. Very good quality, and the service was very good.

Yeah, this is an annual tradition for many Door County vacationers, but unless you have your heart set on Swedish pancakes or meatballs, there are far better choices around the area. Al Johnson's has, over the years, lost its folksy flair and become an assembly line at which staff from Eastern Europe rudely whisk away dishes from the table while... More

My family of four decided to try out this restaurant for breakfast, while we were visiting door county. We enjoyed watching the goats on the roof, very cool to watch! My son tried the Swedish pancakes and he loved them, there were no leftovers! My daughter is very picky with trying new foods so she just had a bowl of... More

Good food, great service, kitschy atmosphere. Goats on the roof are very unique. A 15 minute or so wait to be seated for a late lunch at 2 p.m.

Great experience, Kids loved the grass roof with goats and the interior was nice. The Swedish theme was true and the food was authentic and great. This is a must stop place if you stop in Sister Bay or Door County Area of Wisconsin.
