Good Steak and brat sandwiches

When I was young, I used to patronize this restaurant. It had good steak sandwiches then and they are as good now. The brats are great. Good malts. French fries are great. This place has not changed in 50 years and is as good as ever

If you want a Sheboygan style double brat or a brat patty this is the place. They only "fry" the brats over charcoal fire, use Sheboygan style "hard roles" buttered of course with plenty of onions and brown mustard. Doesn't get any better than this.

A fun place to eat in an attractive, homey neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and really hustled. Service couldn't have been better. If you don't need the fancy plates and utensils, this is just the place! My wife and I had the two-brat-bun with the works. This turned out to be a very tasty treat that challenged you to... More

Some of the worst food ever! Saw a rating of 4 1/2 stars so we thought we found a great place. Wrong! They must be stuffing the box. Daughter had potato salad but is was mostly chunks of egg. Burgers were tasteless. They mixed up mine and my sons's order. I had chicken soup. It was horrible. So salty. Tasted... More

If you're looking for fancy this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a off the beaten path neighbor hood eatery this is this place. We ordered the double brat sandwich, which was served ias a bulk sausage patty. We were expecting links, but we found the sandwichs to be obsolutely delicious. We were definitely the out of... More

My husband used to eat here when he was a traveling salesman. It's been our family's legendary brat stop for decades. Glad to say that it's as good as ever.

If you're from out of town and want to know what Sheboygan tastes like, this is it!!! Found this place a few years back and have to stop here every time I'm in town. Not the best looking place, but the food is well worth it.

Yeow! what a great burger, the bun's fresh & great, not your standard cheap bun, it's buttery, it's delicious. Onion rings fresh and not greasy, and the on site manager very friendly. this is what a burger should be, what I remember great burgers were in my youth, not fancy, just damn good, at a great price. I'll be back,... More

This place is a real classic. Great sandwiches, a favorite with the locals (they know a great deal when they see it). Friendly atmosphere. Try the bratwurst and the steak sandwiches. The chocolate malts are the real deal!

We just love the Charcoal Inn! Whenever we have guests in town, or just a craving for some good old fashion juicy burgers, we go to the C.I. to get out fix!!! We love the cozy old town feel of the place, and the prices are as if they have not changed since the 1950's. They recently got a liquor... More
