A neat place to eat

This cozy club has a great atmosphere with a friendly staff, and a nice menu. The carrots that are served with each dinner are out standing, and so is the homemade soup. We dined with another couple and each ordered something different. Three of the four meals were very good ( two types of steak and... read more

Shady Sue's, Rhinelander, WI This is a very small place and aesthetically, more of a tavern than a restaurant. There is no separation between the U-shaped bar and the 10 - 12 close-quarter tables that surround it on 3 sides. There was also no separation between the front door and the service area. Ingress is directly into the dining space,... More

We've been here before and never felt the disappointment that we did last night. We ordered an entree to share. There was nothing on the menu nor were we told when we asked for an extra plate that it would be an extra $4 but it sure was on the bill. Usually when we share a entree and pay for... More

Good drinks and good food. The crackers with cheese and bread snacks help meet our minimum standards for Wisconsin supper club. Everybody was quite happy and we will be back. We could even be back this week.

We were hoping our second dining experience at Shady Sue's would be as pleasant as the first and we're happy to report it was! Atmosphere, food, value and bartender Ted are all factors in our five star rating. Loved my pan fried walleye and HOT, crispy fries!

We enjoy a good tenderloin or prime rib when we dine out: Shady Sue's is by far the best! We travel and hour and a half round trip just to eat there! Be sure to make reservations as they do get very busy. My husband is a rather large guy, so for him to leave a restaurant full is quite... More

On a tip from Sheraton Madison desk clerk, stopped here on way north for dinner pan-fried walleye. Nice sized portion, lightly pan-fried, fairly priced. Ordered the twice-baked potato (a rare item in a restaurant). Their drink menu has Golden Cadillacs and Pink Squirrels...I used to make those many years ago. Blast from the past. Locals place. Friendly, quick service. Would... More

My husband's family has been frequenting this restaurant-then known as South 17-since the 1940s. It is a typical supper club set-up: horseshoe bar surrounded by about eight tables. In the summer you can dine in the Sugar Shack, a screened in gazebo a few steps from the restaurant. The chef is the owner, so you can count on excellent pan-fried... More

Wonderful small restaurant. Bartender knows how to make a good drink. But the real treat... Roasted garlic filled tenderloin steak with twice baked potatoes. Wonderful meal in an excellent north woods restaurant.
