Really good burgers

Stopped for lunch..though prices were a little on the high side but the burgers were SO good! Really juicy, great taste, portion good, service excellent. A little dark in the interior but it is a pub. Will be back. Can see why it has been around so long.

The Cafe and Pub is a Rhinelander Institution and I've eaten here regularly for years. It has that sort of "supper club" sort of feel to it, yet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I meet friends here for lunch several times a month, and most recently I went for the Saturday night prime rib, which was perfection. My... More

Enjoyed the meal. A little high priced but was good. We ate lunch and later supper. Very kid friendly for evening meal. Would go back again!

I have had good meals here but this was not one of them. I don't know if it's because it was a Sunday, but the food was horrible. Blue cheese dressing was mayo with two small pieces of cheese. Garlic steak was tough, looked like it was cut with a saw, the mushrooms were so tough I couldn't chew it,... More

We stopped in for dinner on mother's day with our daughter and son-in-law who live in Rhinelander. The decor is typical for "old school" Wisconsin supper clubs, and is warm and welcoming, traditional if a bit dated. The service was very good and the food was quite good. The ladies had the lobster ravioli with shrimp risotto and really enjoyed... More

I've been coming to "the Pub" for fifty years. It was part of the highlights of a trip to the big city of Rhinelander, that always included a stop at Woolworth's, just up the block in those days, and lunch with a piece of pie at "the Cafe". In all the years I've dined here, I have never, ever been... More

They need more variety on their menu with food choices that can be afforded by people in this economy. The Décor is so out of date and it is really dark and hard to see. Because of the layout- your server is hard to get when you want them- so order two beverages right away.

A very welcoming, upscale Central Wisconsin Supper Club. Very abundant portions, lots of locals, very friendly. Owner was on site. Great brandy old-fashioned drinks. Large menu selection of basic American dishes. Inviting and relaxing atmosphere.

The food is always good, if not exciting, but the atmosphere is depressing red and black, dark wood and brick - in an old-fashioned (read 70's) style. Since there are no windows it is even darker. Old icky carpeting doesn't help matters and the women's restroom is years past its due date for a remodel. Careful with the water in... More

We stopped here for lunch as it seemed to be the only non-fast food restaurant that was open at the time. The menu had a large selection that even included healthy items. My husband had the French Dip sandwich and I had a fresh whitefish sandwich. It was served on a bakery style roll with lettuce and tomato. It came... More
