Charming Northwoods "supper club"

I had dinner here with two friends recently. This is definitely one of the old fashioned supper clubs that is still alive and well. The decor is a bit dated, as one would expect, but very charming. We had the steak and it was delicious. We each were served a huge wedge of lettuce with three of... read more

We have been to the White Stag usually once or twice a year for the past 5 years, the last visit was very poor. The steaks were under cooked, they lack any flavor, and were tough, and they were short on dinner rolls one for each person. We ordered a fillet and a Porterhouse being under cooked they should not... More

Great old fashioned supper club! Everything is grilled out in the open on a main grill. The wedge salad is a staple with every meal. It comes with a variety of 3 dressings - you can scoop as much as you want and mix them all up. Baked potato was huge and served with ample butter and sour cream. I... More

We ate at the Stag years ago and were happy. On Thursday, June 18th we arrived at 7 pm. We were seated immediately as they had a table for two open. We actually wanted a drink at the bar first but felt pushed by the hostess to go to our table. After about 10 minutes we met our waitress who... More

Loved the steak! My friend got the swordfish and enjoyed it. Salad is a wedge of iceberg lettuce and it comes with a variety of salad dressings that you put on. I mixed them and loved that! The baked potatoes were perfectly prepared. I will return!! Staff were ideal.

Family run for three generations. It is so endearing to have a restaurant and its food remain exactly the same. The only thing that has changed is that they now have a printed menu rather than it being verbally recited. The chef in his tall hat still prepares your food over the open flame fire pit in the main dining... More

If you like salad and baked potato, this is the place to go, if you want a GOOD steak, this is not the place to go. I had a filet which was so chewy and tuff and my husband had the ribeye that was also tuff and chewy, in one word, terrible. Will not go back, we have dined there... More

The restaurant has that North woods rustic feel to it. Its very relaxing. The food is excellent, not a lot of choices, but doesn't need to be. The service was slow but friendly.

The steaks, salads, and potatoes were as good as ever on our yearly visit, but we were disappointed that we could not have separate tickets ( there were only 4 of us we were told she would separate them for us on the ticket but did not . The restaurant's best feature is the open grill in the main dining... More

was staying in Eagle River and this was recommended by a person we spoke with. I was a little concerned because of other trip advisor reviews. The food was ok but as some others have said temperatures in food items not correct. The service is friendly by servers but not worth the price that is charged. Not sure about other... More
