I haven't been to Robert's Roost in 2 years but decided to make the trip from Skokie with my husband for a little getaway. The place is still the same. The prices are reasonable. The hours are 6 -1 and we barely made it in....we saw others being turned away....I think the least they could do is extend the hours... More

Hope this place is turning around. Our experience about 6 months ago was very poor, we were waiting for *everything*, requiring us to actually go find our waitress over and over for more coffee, cream, to-go boxes, even our bill. The whole staff was harried, our waitress seemed irritated and avoided customers at her tables. Tried it again today, and... More

This place is very cute however, if i ask for poached eggs I have to ask to have them be runny which is weird to me. also their home made donuts are not worth it either.. I have been their now twice and I would go back but i have learned that i have to be picky with their small... More

Very Unorganized seating process, waitress did not know we had her section for 10 mins after seating. Then we placed our order and our drinks did not come, for another 10 mins! We had to go to the bar to order our drinks, just water and coffee. It was a busy Sunday but when you go to restaurant you expect... More

Me and the Fiance go to roberts roost about once or twice a month its got a wonderfully delicous menu and homey decor. That being said as far as service goes I think it could only be improved by adding more in the area of the wait staff, the manager/owner seems to only be attentive after the waitress (who seems... Since we had a mid-morning appointment we decided to attack the day by parking the car and taking a walk to get some fresh air. This walk intentionally headed us toward Robert's Roost. Being early enough we were able to get a table right away, but shortly after we sat down, the place started hopping and there were several groups... More

This small restaurant is the place to go for breakfast. They have the best pancakes I've ever had. They are probably 10 inches around, light, fluffy, slightly sweet, and I usually take home part of the breakfast to heat up for tomorrow. The place is tiny, crowded on the weekend, decorated in a country style that goes with their name.... More

I hadn't been back to Roberts Roost in nearly a year until a recent visit. I was so disappointed. The food quality has really declined. I ordered the veggie omelette, which has long been a favorite. While the omelette was still good, the hashbrowns were VERY greasy and appeared to be leftovers. The toast had a circle of butter/grease dabbed... More

This is a small, homey restaurant! We had a short wait - remedied by a enormous bloody Mary from the bar while my kids had hot coco. Once we got our table my boys were entertained with the paper that covered the table cloth and the crayons. The service was great! Everyone was extremely kind to my kids and made... More

We stopped for breakfast based on the trip advisor reviews, so we had high expectations. The restaurant is small and a bit crowded. Cutesy rustic seems a bit out of place in the urban setting, though it honors the family traditions. the menu is unimaginative...just the basic breakfast stuff. The "fresh" donuts were served cold and greasy...not at all special.... More
