Since we had a mid-morning appointment we decided to attack the day by parking the car and taking a walk to get some fresh air. This walk intentionally headed us toward Robert's Roost. Being early enough we were able to get a table right away, but shortly after we sat down, the place started hopping and there were several groups... More

This small restaurant is the place to go for breakfast. They have the best pancakes I've ever had. They are probably 10 inches around, light, fluffy, slightly sweet, and I usually take home part of the breakfast to heat up for tomorrow. The place is tiny, crowded on the weekend, decorated in a country style that goes with their name.... More

I hadn't been back to Roberts Roost in nearly a year until a recent visit. I was so disappointed. The food quality has really declined. I ordered the veggie omelette, which has long been a favorite. While the omelette was still good, the hashbrowns were VERY greasy and appeared to be leftovers. The toast had a circle of butter/grease dabbed... More

This is a small, homey restaurant! We had a short wait - remedied by a enormous bloody Mary from the bar while my kids had hot coco. Once we got our table my boys were entertained with the paper that covered the table cloth and the crayons. The service was great! Everyone was extremely kind to my kids and made... More

We stopped for breakfast based on the trip advisor reviews, so we had high expectations. The restaurant is small and a bit crowded. Cutesy rustic seems a bit out of place in the urban setting, though it honors the family traditions. the menu is unimaginative...just the basic breakfast stuff. The "fresh" donuts were served cold and greasy...not at all special.... More

Four of us visited Roberts Roost last Saturday 10/24 at 8:30 in the morning. We got seated immediately and had no issues with service throughout our whole meal. We all wanted to try the donuts because we had heard that they were outstanding. They were delivered before the rest of our meals and were cold. They weren't fresh and hadn't... More

I have to agree with everyone that the food was good, but the service had serious issues. Perhaps our Saturday AM was an off day for both the kitchen and wait staff, but cooking an egg over hard was an issue and we gave up after the second one. Small things like getting toast dry and jam was a challenge... More

There is nothing I can add to the previous comments. Great food, fair prices, friendly staff. I can't think of any other place in the US, let alone Racine, that serves a better breakfast. April 2012 was my first visit but I've returned many, many times since then. In fact I'm heading there this morning.

If you like bloody marys for breakfast, this is your place. Best pancakes in Racine, some days they have blueberry pancakes. The French toast is unbelievable. And you can get a club sandwich made from waffles.

I almost hate to write this review, because I don't want the local regulars to have to get squeezed out. But this is the best breakfast food you've ever had! The pancakes are fluffy, the donuts are fresh and hot, the eggs are buttery and made perfectly to order - no matter the style, the coffee is strong and fresh.... More
